Location, location, location… Lower Hyde Holiday Park is only half a mile from the glorious sandy sweep of Shanklin Beach, one of the most popular spots on the Isle of Wight. If the sun has got his hat on, you can stretch out on the loungers beside the heated outdoor pool and watch the kids zoom down the flume; if it’s raining, there’s a spa pool inside instead. And whatever the forecast, you can look lively with a kickabout on the all-weather sports court. The site also has the Barnhouse bar and restaurant, and evening entertainment is sorted at the spacious Squires Showbar with its busy schedule of live bands, discos and cabaret. Lower Hyde also has a full range of kids' clubs, with characters such as Sparky to keep the younger ones fizzing, and suitably cool activities such as film making for teens.

Liked The electric tent pitches were very large leaving plenty of space between tents. The layout was really nice and we were close to the toilet and shower block.
Our children enjoyed the swimming pool and slide as well as the arcade. We also had fun at bingo.

Liked Spacious pitches nice and quiet at first close to every thing we needed fantastic guy who ran the tent an touring part

Disliked Toilets and showers were clean for first week but once all the kids broke up they were awful as kids were messing round in there , signal was also poor

Liked We stayed here with our campervan and had a great experience. The pitches are very spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax. The on-site bar was a nice bonus, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!

Disliked Some of the turns—especially the one below the pool—are quite blind and tricky to navigate with a larger vehicle like a motorhome.

Liked First time staying at lower hyde in a tent and had a fantastic stay. The reception team was very accommodating as we was put in a sunny pitch and we asked to be moved over into a shade area. Shower block and toilet was clean.

Liked Pleasant staff in all departments, plenty if room on pitches clean toilets, thought the entertainment group did a really good job ,. Couldn't comment on the children's side of thing because we didn't have children with us, would definitely go here again

Liked Good shower block it had a bath@@ fantastic 👏

Disliked 3 different check in times given! 12pm on shower doors which could have done with..2pm from pitch up and 4pm on the day from the park...hot day could have done with dip in pool . Instead hung around waiting for 4pm by which time pool closed..gave us a pitch that was like concrete. Wanted to charge us extra for transfer to pitch with softer grass...

Aside from its fab beach, Shanklin also has a good variety of shops, seaside amusements and eateries, with some of the best examples of the latter to be found in the Old Village, a picture-perfect cluster of thatched cottages and winding streets.
