Shady spots and sunny spots for you sun lovers

  • Dog-friendly pop-up site in a spacious four-acre field
  • A 10-minute drive from beaches and 15 minutes from Milford on Sea
  • A 10-minute walk from a microbrewery, spa, vegan café and restaurant
Whether you’re paddleboarding on local beaches, pursuing outdoor activities in the New Forest or mooching around the nearby towns, there’s a great balance between civilisation and peaceful countryside at In Nature Camping in Dorset. Under a mile from the edge of the New Forest National Park and 10 minutes’ drive away from beaches, there’s lots on the agenda here: days at the beach, visits to nearby historic towns and properties, shopping or even chilling with a spa treatment at the venue a short walk away. Also within 10 minutes' walk of the site is a vegan café and a restaurant. There’s a microbrewery 10 minutes' walk away, which serves drinks like small-cask beer, handcrafted ales and ‘unfined’ beer. A five-minute drive away, there’s another café with pick-your-own farm produce activities - how lovely. The closest beaches for strolls, snoozes, swimming and the likes are Avon beach (10 minutes), Highcliffe beach (10 minutes) Barton-on-sea beach (10 minutes). As for interesting local towns with shops and cafés, make your way to Highcliffe (five minutes), Christchurch (10 minutes), New Milton (five minutes) and Milford on Sea (15 minutes). The main road from Lyndhurst to the coast runs just a short distance from the field, making it nice and easy to access local attractions. What about the place you’ll be calling home for your Dorset holiday? Off-grid, it’s very much a wildlife haven. Try your hand at self-sufficiency (barbecues and firepits are allowed, weather conditions permitting) or grab your meals locally. There are four hot showers, six toilets and two washing-up sinks for those of you who decide to dust off the old camp stove and try cooking under the stars.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked nice hot showers ( although some people said sometimes there wasn't hot water? but mine was hot) and plenty of space, it was very empty and the man there was helpful and often around for questions

Disliked weren't allowed campfires or barbecues the whole time but that's because of new forest rules I think. sometimes washing up the water was cold.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: The washing up water is never cold you have to run it for a minute like at home.
I can’t believe poeple still complaining about no campfires when the grass is brown it’s baking hot and you still want a fire. Wild fires everywhere are you people stupid

Lovely views and plenty of space,…

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Really friendly and laid back campsite. I loved that we could choose our own pitch and chose a spot near the hedges for some shade. Showers were good and there was a pizza van there in the evenings.

Disliked If you camp in the second field, it’s a bit of a trek to get to the washing up station in the first.

From the manager: Well we never had washing up sinks hot showers back in the day.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Lovely site, lots of space split across two fields. Would reccomend the second field over the first one you drive into. However, showers and washing up area in the first.

Disliked We went over the bank holiday weekend, so toilets and showers were very busy. However, when we woke Tuesday post BH, it was very quiet, so can see why they haven't more.

From the manager: Thanks guys

Primitive grass and earth RV campsite

Liked A chilled spacious perfectly located flat field. The manager was helpful and welcoming

Disliked The toilets were unusable by the morning of our stay (bank holiday weekend) so we left early (8am) just so we could go to the toilet. Just 2 ladies and 2 men’s portaloos in a field with hundreds of people.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: The only reason the toliets get messy at night is because adults can’t seem to use them and make a mess. We had 8 toliets on site. We do or best in busy times.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Plenty room to pitch up without being on top of people.
Freedom to pitch up anywhere, so you can choose your spot away from wind or hot sun etc.
Showers are hot and plenty good enough for a refresh.
Toilets are just portaloos, but never queued much and they were kept clean.
Amazing location, not too far from shops, but most importantly (for us at least), a lovely beach just a 10 minute drive away.

Disliked Be prepared to go back to basics (which feels great in this screen time modern world) and there really is nothing not to like.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked The location, the hot showers and the washing up station.

Disliked It was advertised on here that we could have a BBQ. When we arrived, we was told no BBQ’s or fires. I understand about the fires, but had I known this, I would’ve booked elsewhere because we had travelled a long way to get here and had everything ready for a BBQ.
The toilets were also disgusting on the second day, full to the brim and I could smell them for at least 80 metres away. Not to mention the pizza van being parked right next to the toilets that stunk, definitely didn’t make me want to eat from there.
The site was absolutely heaving and what was supposed to be a peaceful couple of night away in nature, was actually overcrowded, loud and a bit disappointing after reading the 9.5⭐️ reviews.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Another complaint about not being able to have bbq so we can set the campsite on fire!!! Really stupid wild fires everywhere probably started by idiots having bbq

Primitive grass and earth RV campsite

Liked Bank holiday Aug weekend , loved all of it .
Friendly welcome , just warm welcome , handed a sheet with all the info we needed , and told to choose a space and enjoy
Facilities are simple and clean , we had camper van so didn’t need facilities .
Dogs we had 3 , nice nature walk loop on the property :
Beach : Avon and Highcliffe 8 mins ( both dog friendly )
Pub : Cat & Fiddle 4 mins
New Forest : for more Dog walks 8-10 mins
Carboot : strawberry fields 14 mins
Lymington market : 15 mins
Loads more to explore we just ran out of days ..
We arrived Saturday got a good spot ,
It slowly filled up to busy .. but such a lovely atmosphere campers were all respectful and fitting in snug ..
Camp was Full .. but cosy .. loads of families but eneryone was respectfully quiet at the right times .
Pizza van at nights , Ice cream van during the day .
You can have bbqs and Fire pits for hire ( when the fire ban wasn’t on .
They have Self errected ready tents as well and they looked huge
We had 3 Dogs and there were lots of families with dogs but it was more relaxed atmosphere , we’ve been to camps where we feel like wardens are so strict

Disliked Nothing .. no dislikes at all

From the manager: Thanks for your lovely feed back. Positive thoughts on our site are always welcome

Local attractions

Work your way outwards, starting with the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes’ drive) and the Romantic-style Highcliffe Castle (five minutes). The beach has access to the beach and a nature reserve, but for more cool habitats and wild animals, Hengistbury Head (20 minutes) should also be on your radar. Milford on Sea (15 minutes) is also just over the way. There, you’ll certainly get your watersports fix. There are ferries to Hurst Castle, an artillery fort at sea with links to the formidable Henry VIII. Further along the coast is the sailing hub of Lymington (20 minutes). To the north, your New Forest adventures might include the Go Ape course and cycling trails in the Moors Valley Country Park & Forest (half an hour). To the south, perhaps a big day out in Bournemouth (25 minutes), where surfing, kayaking and cycles on the prom might keep you occupied?
