  • Family-run 45-acre Hampshire country estate with carp fishing lakes
  • On the edge of New Forest National Park; Bournemouth 30 minutes' drive
  • Well-equipped log cabins with private kitchen and bathroom facilities
Sitting in between the New Forest National Park and the Cranborne Chase National Landscape, Lake Farm is in an enviable Hampshire location surrounded by fabulous rural scenery. There’s a huge list of things to do nearby, whether you’re here on a family holiday or a relaxing break with your other half. Walks, watersports, beach days, animal attractions, historic sites… fill your holiday schedule however you wish without having to travel too far. In fact, there may well be the odd day when you don’t leave the site at all – instead choosing to spend some time exploring the 45 acres of this family-run private estate, playing outdoor games or opting for a day spent fishing for carp at the well-stocked lakes on site. There’s also the option of wandering out onto local footpaths for a stroll to take in the rural views or head to the village pub (about a mile away). And of course, you may well simply want to chill out in your lodge – these lovely log cabins all have plenty of space both inside and out, so take your pick from the sofa and TV in the living room or head out onto your deck to sip a drink on the outdoor furniture. Each lodge also has a private bathroom and a kitchen (with cooker, fridge, microwave and cooking kit), and bed linen is provided so you’ll be able to travel light (just remember to bring your own towels). The nearest town is Fordingbridge, 10 minutes' drive away and a useful place to find shops, takeaways, pubs and restaurants.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked No light pollution, so good night sky viewing. Clean toilets and showers.
Easy going atmosphere. Friendly campers.
A selection of areas available to camp.
Nice host who came around about 6.30-7pm. Price fits my affordability.
Night owls and wildlife.

Disliked Toilets although clean, were a bit cramped in size and some had no working lights. Bring a torch.
No coffee van as advertised.
Unfortunately I came on a night where a rave or music festival was happening in a distant field so had to endure pumping bass sounds for a lot of the night trying to sleep. I had to stuff my ears with tissue and wear my headphones to sleep. Not great but not the hosts fault.
Not a massive amount of space available but ample for everyone there.
Lots of red ants in one of the field areas, but plenty without in another so I found a spot.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I can only apologise for the disturbance caused by the music. This was an unauthorised event, and a number of local residents, including myself, went out to locate it and report it. Unfortunately, it took some time for the authorities to shut it down, and we are very sorry for the disruption this caused during your stay.

I was also unaware that we were advertising a coffee van, as we do not currently have one on site. I will look into where this information is being displayed and arrange for it to be removed from the relevant systems.

I also noted your comments regarding the size of the allocated camping area. We agree that some pitches can feel a little tight, and we are planning to cut back more of the grass to create additional space and allow guests more room to comfortably pitch their tents.

Thank you again for your feedback. It is genuinely helpful in highlighting areas where we can improve

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Basically just a field, pull up and find a space and that’s you. There was a mobile festival type shower block and toilet block. Toilet I used was clean but there was no working light so had to leave the door ajar, can’t comment on the showers. Can’t complain for £20 and perfectly ok for a stopover for a night.

Liked The quiet!
Nice quiet, easy, cheap little campsite. No fancies, but exactly what we needed to get away from life for a little while.
We will definitely be returning.

Disliked Nothing.
Although, perhaps the dust and horse poo but that’s definitely our fault for pitching up in the wrong place haha
Still enjoyed it nonetheless!

Liked Loved it and will certainly be going back. If you are looking for somewhere to chill out, take a walk, it’s great. The toilets altho very small are spotless and so are the showers. The old town is only a couple miles away and go a bit further and you are in the new forest.

Liked Nothing

Disliked Advent described as camping by a lake, not true, only time you see lake is when you drive past it. Horrible field, disgusting toilets and filthy showers.
Even £20 per night is to much, don't stay here.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your stay.

We would, however, like to clarify that none of our photographs or descriptions claim that the campsite offers lake views. We are a field-camping site, and the photographs of our camping areas accurately reflect the setting and facilities provided.

We are also sorry that you were unhappy with our facilities. While we appreciate that they can feel somewhat cramped at busy times, they are cleaned daily and we take cleanliness very seriously. This is also reflected in the many reviews from guests who stayed around the same time as you, who gave us particularly high marks for the cleanliness of our facilities.

We appreciate all feedback and are always looking for ways to improve our guests’ experience.

An excellent budget site with all you need.
