What customers say
A quiet, budget campsite with a rural vibe. Friendly owners, clean basic facilities. Toilets can be small/dim. Lake access less than expected by one guest. Grass cutting & toilet lighting improved.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Friendly welcoming farmer
Facilities clean and decent loo roll provided
You can choose your own pitch with plenty of space
Lovely walks around the site
Good location, close to great places for days out
Disliked Left 2 days early due to campers next to us keeping us awake until the early hours of the morning. While this is no reflection on the site itself, as they were asked to be quiet, I think there needs to be some site rules set, especially as there were quite a few families with children onsite

Great site in a great location.…
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Great site in a great location. The owner came over for a chat and he was really friendly and welcoming. The site was nice and quiet and close to Fordingbridge.
Disliked (Note that we camped there, not stayed in a lodge). The toilet/shower facilities were very basic, and it was a bit hit and miss as to whether the shower would be hot or otherwise, but I totally get that the site’s primary business is the fishing/lodges and less aimed at the campers. This is a minor grumble though, as the booking prices reflected this entirely. I would definitely stay there again though :)

Highly recommend if you want peace and quiet with no frills
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely quiet site. In the middle of no where. But equally close enough to the sights if you jump in your car.
Plan to go back.
Disliked The narrow roads 😱. First time out in our new bigger camper. But we got there and survived.
Facilities very basic but the site is dirt cheap so you can’t really complain

Great little campsite
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Very good. It is a field with nice toilets, good showers, washing up facilities and drinking water. Peaceful and a friendly owner. Nice and safe site for children to explore independently

Good campsite but very basic, but this is reflected in the price.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Although a campsite it gave the feeling of wild camping, there was no laid out pitches and it was very rural.
Hot water with good pressure in the dish washing area and showers.
Disliked The facilities where very basic, only 2 toilets (out of a block of 5) and 1 shower (out of a block of 4) where open to use.
The website (both the campsite website and pitch up) stated there was a local pub within 1 mile, this is very inaccurate, it's nearly 3 miles away which makes a huge difference when you're walking!

Will come again. Will check for and avoid any planned nearby raves.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked No light pollution, so good night sky viewing. Clean toilets and showers.
Easy going atmosphere. Friendly campers.
A selection of areas available to camp.
Nice host who came around about 6.30-7pm. Price fits my affordability.
Night owls and wildlife.
Disliked Toilets although clean, were a bit cramped in size and some had no working lights. Bring a torch.
No coffee van as advertised.
Unfortunately I came on a night where a rave or music festival was happening in a distant field so had to endure pumping bass sounds for a lot of the night trying to sleep. I had to stuff my ears with tissue and wear my headphones to sleep. Not great but not the hosts fault.
Not a massive amount of space available but ample for everyone there.
Lots of red ants in one of the field areas, but plenty without in another so I found a spot.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I can only apologise for the disturbance caused by the music. This was an unauthorised event, and a number of local residents, including myself, went out to locate it and report it. Unfortunately, it took some time for the authorities to shut it down, and we are very sorry for the disruption this caused during your stay.
I was also unaware that we were advertising a coffee van, as we do not currently have one on site. I will look into where this information is being displayed and arrange for it to be removed from the relevant systems.
I also noted your comments regarding the size of the allocated camping area. We agree that some pitches can feel a little tight, and we are planning to cut back more of the grass to create additional space and allow guests more room to comfortably pitch their tents.
Thank you again for your feedback. It is genuinely helpful in highlighting areas where we can improve
Basically just a field, pull up…
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Basically just a field, pull up and find a space and that’s you. There was a mobile festival type shower block and toilet block. Toilet I used was clean but there was no working light so had to leave the door ajar, can’t comment on the showers. Can’t complain for £20 and perfectly ok for a stopover for a night.

From the manager: Thanks you review, Light has now been fixed in that toilet
Great stay very relaxing.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Friendly welcoming owner, clean facilities, an idyllic natural environment, with an abundance of wildlife.
Disliked If I’m being picky on our visit I think the grass could have been shorter.
