  • Spacious farm site on the Kent and East Sussex border
  • Half an hour’s drive from Camber Sands
  • Campfires, café-bar, pick-your-own pitches and adventure playground
Pitch up at Park Farm Caravan and Camping for pitchside campfires galore plus piles of spectacular wide open space around which to cycle, fly kites and let the kids (and dogs) run wild. Set on a farm in a peaceful rural spot on the border between Kent and East Sussex, this site is bordered by a little river and surrounded by miles upon miles of handsome countryside; for days out off site, the swell little seaside resort of Camber Sands is a handy half an hour’s drive away, and attractions like the Kent and Sussex Railway, Bodiam Castle and Bedgebury Pinetum are within a short drive too. Back at base, there’s heaps of stuff to keep guests of all ages amply amused all day long, like free fishing into the neighbouring river direct from the site. For kids there’s a partially fenced adventure playground with a trim trail, a play fort and a big slide for small folk to let off steam at. For rainy day, the open-sided barn is furnished with more fun-based bits, like a seesaw and other kit and games. When peckish or thirsty head over to the site's café and bar – The Camp Stove Kitchen – for delicious food and drinks (perhaps even a cheeky cocktail…). Otherwise, head to the neighbouring pub for a feed or an afternoon pint of guest ale. After a feed, it’s a splendid idea to have an amble around the farm to – the site owners actively maintain natural habitats to keep local wildlife happy, so while out and walking around one might well catch sight of some native critters too, from deer, barn owls and lots of other bird species to plenty of butterflies and insects.

Powered grass campsite

Liked It was quick, quiet and tranquil.
Check in was great - name, you’re here, well directed and guided.
The venue was quiet, few people maybe, but a few larger groups and even a “concert” one evening, but quietened down early enough for our 4kids ages 4-11 to rest ok.
Tranquil, evenings fires and star watching, blissful.

Disliked Out of hours darkness, we were on the far field and bit of a dark trek - torches more available (is not the site).
Pitches marked with flags/number posts but not explicit where the boundary/edge was so little bit of negotiation. Should the flag be middles, edges (left of flag to next flag?).

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The shower and toilet facilities were great. Easy to find.

Disliked Would have liked more sheltered areas for tents, we were told not to go in the numbered bays so we were quite exposed even though there was alot of spaces empty. It was a windy weekend!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked We loved making a campfire. Exploring the playground and the site.

Great facilities - the logs sold to you from a pickup, the ice cream van. I also liked you could charge your phone and freeze your ice packs!

Disliked I was a bit confused about the recycling and rubbish disposal. Ended up putting a lot in the general waste…

Liked Really spacious site.
Facilities were clean and tidy, regularly cleaned and check on.
Kids loved the park
one site shop and bar were good

Disliked Fires on the grass.
There were loads of fire holes in the grass, made it interesting to pitch to avoid these burnt areas

Liked Great site! Playground was brilliant for my boys. Onsite bar (didn't use) and Cafe (did use) and shop.Cafe has fair prices and the boys loved the Mountain hot chocolate!
Shop has anything you may need or have forgotten. Logs available to buy at good prices too.

Disliked Shower was cold when I had one in the evening...though it was absolutely fine in the morning another time.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Family Friendly nice staff . Love the bar in the barn. Onsite shop/ cafe a bonus.
Beautiful surroundings near to lots of amenities and places to go.
Clean toilets and shower blocks.
Freezers to freeze ice blocks and charging station for phones.

Disliked This was our second time back ( first time was during easter hols) was very busy this time bank hoilday weekend. An additional shower block is needed to meet demand and some flood lighting on the bar barn overlooking the play area would be good as it remains open till 10pm and kids still want to play. These are constructive suggestions not really a dislike as I think this is a lovely camping site. My only real dislike was the amount of under 25 groups as some were a bit to much and certainly not great round families but get that it's hard to manage that as people book separately.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The woodland, lovely spaces. Great play area

Disliked Was very very busy. We travelled in a group with other families. But if I had been on my own with my children, it would have been very overwhelming.

Local attractions

The plentiful paths that lie around the site also link up with other local footpaths, like the one that runs beside the river to Bodiam Castle, about 20 minutes’ amble away. At Bewl Water you can go sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and cycling, or you can head to the shingle stretches at Camber Sands for windsurfing and jetskiing at Cooden beach near Bexhill. If angling’s more your sort of water-based pursuit, fish free of charge for chub and roach from the site, or head to the nearby fish farm. For a spot of local history, visit National Trust properties like Sissinghurst Castle, Cranbrook, Smallhythe Place, Scotney Castle and Batemans; should you instead fancy being ferried around, get all aboard at Bodiam for the Kent and East Sussex Railway.
