Cairds Camping and Caravan Site is a quiet family run camping and glamping site located in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the outskirts of Stonegate, a hamlet in East Sussex. ​ The campsite is perfect for families, couples or friends, for regular campers and glampers or people who are new to the world of camping and glamping. ​ We have many walks nearby as well a wide range of tourist attractions for all, and let's not forget the stunning views from the campsite. We are a small 15 pitch campsite with two glamping units and three glamping bell tents. ​ All of our pitches give you a great view across the fields and woodlands nearby. ​​ Dogs are welcome on site but must be kept on a lead at all times.

  • No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • At least one of the party members must be aged 16 or over.
  • A cable measuring at least 10 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.
  • No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.
  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
  • Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.

Route directions

Cairds Camping and Caravan Site can be accessed via the main A21, A265 or the B2099. ​ If heading south on the A21, turn right at the crossroads at Flimwell , on to the B2087 towards Ticehurst. At the end of the road turn right on to the B2099 towards Wadhurst. Take the next left in the centre of Ticehurst village into Church Street. Take the second left into Battenhurst Road. We are 0.6 miles from the junction on the left. ​ If heading north on the A21, turn left at Hurst Green on to the A265. Go through Etchingham heading towards Burwash. As you reach Burwash and the 30 mph speed limit, take the first right into Shrub Lane which leads on to Battenhurst Road. We are 0.7 miles on the right after the railway crossing. ​ If heading East on the A265, go through Burwash Common and Burwash, take the first turning on the left after Burwash village into Shrub Lane which leads on to Battenhurst Road. We are 0.7 miles on the right after the railway crossing. ​ If heading East on B2099, go through Wadhurst village, take the second turning on the right, after the national speed limit sign, on to Stonegate Road. When you reach Stonegate take the first turning on the left, keeping right, on to Cottenden Road. Then take the next turning on the right into Battenhurst Road. We are 0.6 miles from the junction on the left.
