Had enough of urban life? Escape to the East Sussex countryside for a stay at Apple Orchard Camping, surrounded by the rural landscapes of the High Weald National Landscape and only a little over an hour’s drive from London (depending on which part you’re coming from).
As the name suggests, this glamping site is tucked away in an apple orchard – an organic one, no less – around a mile from Bodiam. The village is primarily known for its castle, but it’s also got a tea room, a lovely pub and a watersports centre where you can hire canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Handily, you can leave the car behind for the day and walk to all of this through the orchard.
There’s plenty of space to relax at this peaceful site – and that’s made even easier with the presence of a sauna and massages to help you get into holiday mode. Evenings are all about campfires and barbecues, so come prepared with all the supplies you’ll need for that – you’ll have access to a fridge to store your bits for the barbecue and drinks for a memorable night of staring up into the dark starry skies.
