  • Small family-run East Sussex site between Hailsham and Polegate
  • Eastbourne, Drusillas Park and South Downs within 15 minutes' drive
  • Access to Cuckoo Trail via footpath; walk/bike on paths to the towns
Take a slice of the easy life in East Sussex with a stay at Peel House Farm – this compact family-run site is surrounded by peaceful farmland, but it’s only a few minutes’ drive from both Hailsham and Polegate for handy access to shops, places to eat and other amenities. You can also reach both towns in a few minutes by bike, along a gravel/tarmac path of a mile, making this a suitable site for those travelling without a car (Polegate has a railway station, and there are bus connections to Hailsham). Even closer than either of those towns is the Cuckoo Trail, a popular 14-mile mostly traffic-free trail that makes a wonderful way to see some of the local scenery. It’s easily accessed from the site via a public footpath. More places to walk? You’ll be in prime position between the South Downs National Park and the High Weald National Landscape, so there are plenty of options nearby. And with the coast just a few miles away as well, you can also take strolls around Eastbourne, Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters cliffs. Pick up supplies while you’re out and about, because barbecues are permitted on site and make a lovely way to finish your outdoor day. There’s a small play area and a recreation field on site where kids can tire themselves out for a decent night’s sleep, and the bathroom block has been thoughtfully kitted out with heating and family-sized cubicles with baby-changing facilities. The covered washing-up area has hot water, and you’ll also have access to wifi if you need it.

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Clean, tidy, nice walk/path to the local town accessible from the back of the campsite.

Disliked Shower button had to be held in. Nearest electric hookups didn't work. Only stayed for one night, so not really an issue.

Primitive grass and earth campsite

Liked Three separate fields, not too large, and with really decent sized pitches on level ground.

Toilets and showers clean in a purpose-built block. Washing up facilities.

Securely gated overnight and owners remained on site

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Lovely little campsite, very friendly owners, great spacious level pitches. Plenty of shade on hot days.
Good facilities for washing up, recycling, rubbish and bbq coal.

Disliked Showers and toilets were quite dated and showers not overly clean, drains were blocked so you stood in a puddle of other people’s hair whilst showering. Wasn’t overly pleasant.
Don’t forget your shower shoes!
