Set in the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape in over 100 acres of mature woodland and countryside, Silverdale Holiday Park has spectacular views over Morecambe Bay and Arnside Knott in Lancashire. However, there’s so much going on around the park that it’s doubtful you’ll ever leave its environs. Silverdale has plenty of children’s activities for wet and dry days. Hit the water in the indoor swimming complex and separate toddler pool, and don’t miss the weekly splash sessions to let off steam. Over-16s can kick back in the sauna and steam room, there’s a Jacuzzi and aqua-fit classes and dedicated swimming sessions for adults. The gym is fitted with cardio and resistance equipment for workouts, and TV screens to distract you from your exercise regime. Elsewhere in the leisure centre there’s a 10-pin bowling alley for family fun, and an indoor soft play area so younger guests can burn off energy. If that doesn’t work, let them loose in the two outdoor playgrounds or book a round on the eight-hole pitch-and-putt green (open in summer only). The bar, café and restaurant are open every day for a variety of homemade food – and although dogs are not allowed inside, you’re welcome to sit on the terrace with your four-legged chums. There’s also a designated dog-walking field on the park and several routes through woodland and along the stunning coastline where you can all stretch your legs.

Luxury camping pod (no pets, deluxe)

Liked: Lovely location, nice clean site, staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the pod we stayed in especially having your own shower and toilet facilities. Nice veranda to sit out on in the lovely sunshine

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked: Toilet block very clean, well stocked onsite shop, very dog friendly, friendly helpful staff, lovley walks, big spacious pitches and with hedges for privacy, if you have children there is play areas indoor and outside plus a swimming pool and bowling ally. Nice looking restaurant and bar and they did breakfast too.

Disliked: Unable to get any TV signal at all, Wifi very poor reception, your not allocated a pitch its first come first served, most of the pitches are not flat you will need levellers, shower pressure was weak, roads leading to the site are single track in places which for bigger Motorhome proved a challenge, we left a different way to the road we used to arrive and that also was also single track but had a few passing places.

Liked: Everything! Pitches are great, spacious, quaint and natural. The on site facilities are superb. There’s loads to do for the kids, with a fantastic pool and beautiful woodland walks close by and access to the beach. We love this site it ticks all the boxes.

Liked: We have stayed here previously with the Grandchildren and loved it. Booked for 8-11 May where we met friends on their first visit. Food in the bar was great as was the first class service. Shop is well stocked and the surrounding countryside walks are stunning especially as we had great weather. We stayed in the motorhome. The whole site is beautiful with fantastic facilities which are very clean and the grounds superbly maintained. We love this site.

Liked: Absolutely beautiful camp site. Each pitch (or most of them) are sectioned by hedges which make it private, beautiful surroundings. Toilets and showers are absolutely immaculate. Shop is well stocked, amazing ice cream and all the staff are extremely friendly. 10/10

Disliked: There is nothing to dislike apart from coming home!!!

Pitches were ample in size
Toilets, showers and wash up area were very clean and of a high standard
All staff throughout the site were polite and welcoming.
Pool area is fabulous and sauna and steam room were added bonus for me.
Shop well stocked, amusement and bowling another great area, topping it all off with bar area inside and out.
Can’t wait to come back.

If you’re keen to stay local, the nearest Morecambe Bay beach is Silverdale Cove (15 minutes’ stroll, be sure to check tide times), while the rural village of Silverdale has a scattering of shops and eateries, including a pub and an Indian takeaway. Further afield, you have the choice of two national parks and a national landscape to explore. Introduce the kids to tales of Peter Rabbit with a visit to The World of Beatrix Potter at Windermere (35 minutes), or watch cute otters playing in water at The Lakes Aquarium (also 35 minutes), both in the Lake District National Park. Turn east for the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a trek up to dramatic Cautley Spout waterfall (50 minutes) or a browse around the shops in the pretty market town of Sedbergh (45 minutes). And to complete the triumvirate, you can head for the Forest of Bowland National Landscape for endless hiking opportunities on moorland around Gisburn Forest (an hour).

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
Please pick any available site on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Public areas are non-smoking.
