Lovely Site
Power optional grass tent campsite
Liked Excellent views!
Lovely campsite all round, clean and well kept.
Good facilities ie shower block, toilets and wash area which were clean and well maintained by users.
Disliked Unfortunately there is limited signal on site.
Peacocks also woke us at around 4am calling to one another.

Camping pod
Liked Well run and well looked after campsite.
Disliked We were staying in a dog friendly pod, so were on the smaller field which is shared with motorhomes, caravans etc. We felt a bit disappointed to be so surrounded by vehicles when we were in such a beautiful area of the lakes (the campsite does in part have amazing views, when not blocked by vehicles etc). The pods were also surrounded by gravel rather than grass (unlike the pods in the camping field) which was not as pleasant.
Also it would have been really helpful to have a baby change table in the toilet block.
Overall good campsite, well organised, but I think there are more beautiful places to camp if you like a more natural setting.

A well located site with excellent facilities.
Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Easy to access, just off main road. Straight forward check in on arrival. Facilities were excellent. Clean and modern bathrooms, showers were lovely and hot. Waste disposal was located behind well signed gates away from view which was neat and tidy. There was nice planting around the entrance and reception area. It was a relatively quiet campsite, our pitch was very spacious and not too close to others.
Disliked Whilst our pitch was generous in size the area it was in was not as appealing as the area where the tents were pitched which had amazing views of Blencathra and got great sunsets. Sadly, we did not have a view which detracted from the overall feel of our stay. The downside of the campsite being easy to reach from the main road was that we could hear quite a bit of road noise which again detracted from the enjoyment of our stay.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked You would struggle to find a better site. Owner works constantly to improve the site. Clean, great toilet/showers, chickens, Guinea fowl, and pea fowl wandering the site. As it should be.
Disliked No bar. Hey ho.

Peaceful and stunning.
Power optional grass tent campsite
Liked Just a stunning site. Very well maintained and kept pitches as well as facilities.
We were only a short drive to Penrith and shops and activities were easily accessible with lot of information on site on what to do and where to eat (if you were stuck).
Well suited if you are electric or non electric hook up as they have everything you need on site as well as 2 shower and toilet blocks.
Previous reviews mentioned the motorway. In all honesty - you barely notice it. Can you hear it when there is not a single sound on site - yes. Is it loud? Absolutely not. If you were to sleep with your window open the likelihood you would hear a road of sorts at home and I cannot see how this would wake you or prevent you from sleeping (speaking as someone that is a very light sleeper). It in no way impacted our sleep or stay. No local traffic wakening you up either which was awesome.
Plenty of water taps and electric hook ups. There were also lovely little pods to rent if you don’t want to camp. Motorbikes were a separate area from the tents (which I quite liked).
Will definitely visit again and recommend
Disliked The only thing I could see for improvement would be the parking. Our last night, the tent camping became quite busy and the parking was limited however, everyone did get a space
