  • Well-kept, quiet CAMC-only touring site between Penrith and Appleby
  • Lake District 15 minutes’ drive and the North Pennines 20 minutes
  • Views of the Northern Pennines on a smallholding in the Eden Valley
Sitting in the peaceful Eden Valley between Penrith and Appleby, Cliburn Caravan Site Certificated Location is for Caravan and Motorhome Club-members only, and has a rural location on a five-acre smallholding with stunning views of the Northern Pennines. Completely surrounded by fields and woods, it couldn’t be better situated for jaunts to the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines National Landscape. Sitting adjacent to Whinfell Forest, the site comprises expansive grass pitches with electric hook-up points, and has all the usual facilities like water, waste and chemical disposal. Barbecues are allowed on the pitches and dogs are welcomed as long as they are kept on a lead on site. One thing to bear in mind, however, is that there is no hot water available. One of the biggest draws of the site (listen up, railway-heritage lovers) is the Station House, which was once part of the Eden Valley Railway and was the local station for Cliburn. It still has the original signal box and weigh office, which were both part of the working station.
