Great clean site in beautiful surroundings
Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite (large)
Liked Large pitch with plenty of space, some privacy with hedging and easy to get to. Access to local walks and plenty of information on the local area. Clean toilet and shower block, shop at reception with a good stock of essentials. A pub with good food 2mins away. Really good site, set in beautiful surroundings, would 100% return. Also the sawmill farm shop which is only a short 10 min walk from the campsite is fantastic, good selection of food, gifts and cakes.
Disliked Refuge store close to pitching area. A few cats kept coming to our tent trying to get to food etc

Friends in a caravan had WiFi but we didn’t on the pitches.
Disliked Electric hook up was a bit too far away…. Had to move up a bit on to the grass. But it looked like work was going on so may be sorting.

Liked Facilities very nice, nice welcome from the people at reception, views from the camp are absolutely stunning
Disliked Take a torch as there is no outside lighting and it’s pitch black if you need to use the facilities when it’s dark. Roads have massive pot holes, which is also not great in the dark. No park wide wifi only at reception

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Lovely location, nice scenery, the local pub was lovely with live music, games and good food, lots of drinking water taps accessible in the fields, lots of space for pitching up.
Disliked No electric plugs in the toilet block for hair tools. Not a lot of room in laundry for drying and washing items of clothing, only enough for one person at a time. Grass gets very boggy when it’s rained. Cleaning Staff member had rushed us out of the toilets in an unfriendly manner when we were in the middle of brushing our teeth. So many spiders on the toilet block ceilings and walls. Feral kittens present that approach tents at nighttime whining outside loudly - quite scary noises.

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear all of your experience didn’t meet your expectations.
Just to clarify a couple of points — there are working sockets in the toilet block, so if there was any issue during your stay, we’d have appreciated a quick heads-up so we could take a look.
Also, our laundry area does have plenty of space for guests to share comfortably — we’re usually able to accommodate multiple people without a problem.
The toilets do close at set times each day for cleaning, and our team needs to move through efficiently to keep things clean and ready for everyone. We understand it might have felt a bit rushed, but we do try to keep disruption to a minimum.
As for the weather and the wildlife — unfortunately, being in a countryside setting means we sometimes have to contend with soggy grass and the occasional curious creature. We’re working on humane ways to manage the local kittens; and we regularly clean the toilet block ceilings to deal with spiders as best we can.
We appreciate the feedback and always take comments on board as we continue improving the site.
We do hope you were still able to enjoy your stay overall, and we'd love to welcome you back in the future.
Best wishes,
The Church Stile Team
