Great stop over option heading along the M6. Just 15m jct 38
Powered gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked Location really easy off M6 and no issues for maneuvers. Very friendly staff. Showers and toilets modern and clean. Pitches are a good size. Onsite bar does eat in or take away food which was excellent value and tasty. Especially the pizzas. Nice riverside walk. Good size park for kids of all ages. Camping pitches are close-by for family camping. Free wifi onsite.
Disliked The back to back pitches means vans are very close to each other but not really an issue. Riverside walk was nice but need to keep little kids close as can be dangerous on the edges. Shouldn't be to pay 20p to use a hairdryer in the facilities. Who carries 20ps these days?

Location perfect for centre of the town
Staff really friendly and helpful
All in all, a really lovely site. Sitting outside for breakfast with the rabbits just a few feet away was great!
The Engine pub / cafe is also an excellent on-site place.

Lovely place to stay, would highly recommend.
Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite (six person)
Liked Eventhough it rained most of the week, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So much so we stayed an extra night. Plenty Beautiful walks around too. The Cosy engine shed had some lovely food and the staff are smiley and polite. The site is very well kept with nice level pitches and considering the amount of rain we had it didn't get bogy on our grass pitch. Also has great clean toilets and shower facilities with a powerful shower. Also Kirkby stephen is a ten minute walk.
