Primitive gravel RV campsite
Liked: The walks close by. Nice views. My son liked the table tennis in the garden of the pub. Pizza was delicious.
Disliked: I thought this was expensive for what it was. The toilets were awful, the washing up area was a sink in a field full of empty glass bottles. I was looking forward to a nice meal. I asked if I needed to book a table and was told no, we came at tea time to be told only reserved tables could order off the menu we could just order pizza. I asked if we could have a portion of chips and i was told no. This was disappointing as my son doesn't like pizza and as there was no BBQ'S allowed we were planning on being able to have a meal. We booked for 2 nights and only stayed one, it was raining and the field was VERY water logged.

Liked: Couldn't get to it !!!!!
Coming from Ambleside the road in to it is not suitable for campers, any thing towed or wide vehicles. its to steep and narrow. Tried to drive around to access from somewhere else but just kept getting back to the same point. Even the locals said they only do the route in a small car!!
Didn't read anything about that on their website. Had to give up in the end.

Liked: The pitches are nice, tucked away and quiet.
Lovely area with nice walks.
Great pub with fantastic atmosphere, dog friendly with decent food.
Disliked: Pricey.
The facilities aren’t great, basically a toilet in a shed. I’d be fine with this if the pitch wasn’t so expensive.

Liked: Very nice place very easy to get to the staff were great and very helpful all the time . The food was very nice and had a beautiful view to wake up to.

Liked: The location was absolutely stunning and was easily accessible to some decent hikes - we went up to Scafell.
The camping field was level and the ground soft.
The facilities were mostly very good with lovely hot showers.
The pie of the day at the Inn was gorg!
Disliked: The washing up area was a little rustic but did the job!

Liked: The setting is lovely and the pub food was very good.
Disliked: The site is very basic including the toilets, showers and washing up facilities. Not great value for money.
Although the food was good and the staff very helpful, there just weren’t enough of them and so service was very slow. We waited at least an hour for our meal.
