Liked: Friendly welcome, wonderful view, really good facilities, nice touches such as gentle automatic lighting on the steps to the toilet to help in the dark, the lambs in the adjoining field, visiting chickens and friendly sheepdog puppy. Also allowed a 1 night stay which was what we needed.

Liked: Very organised! The views anywhere you turned were spectacular (even when you are washing up)!!
Everything was so clean, pitches were a nice distance apart and it was interesting to be right in the centre of a working farm.
Disliked: Our hookup wasn’t actually charging our van, the amperage was seemingly very low,so our neighbouring vans weren’t charging either. They came out to prove it was working with a bulb but wouldn’t listen that it was too low to charge a camper battery.

From the manager: Thanks for the positive review and feedback.
I do remember your booking and coming out to test your hookup. From memory, you informed us that your hookup was not working at all. We use the simple plug in light, to clearly show the hookup has power to it, as a visual reference only, to the customer. This is not intended to be a technical test of amps or voltage, as that is done every year, as part of our external electricians site safety check. The hookup system is only a couple of years old, with a new dedicated armour cable supply being installed at the same time, so all is good there and with the new hookup boxes.
After showing you it worked, I did wait while you plugged it into your van and asked if it was working, and your partners answer was "Yes, it's all working". We left and did not hear from you again, so unsure how we did not listen to you, as this was our only interaction with you. I have no problems in sorting out where things go wrong, as that is just life, however it is unfair to accept embellishments on the original version of events and then post them on open sites, hence the balancing response.
The other reason we use the simple plug in light, as a visual reference, is to prompt customers to look at their side of the connection. Supply or charging problems so far are on the customers side of the hookup, either damage/breaks in customers leads, charging relay problems, charging software/hardware problems or poor battery condition, preventing charging. We have had another look at the hookup you were using, and this was found to be in working order, so may I suggest you check your electrical systems in your van or your hookup cable.
I do believe that there are discussions across a number of sites, to require all electrical installations in vans/caravans to be electrically certified annually, in the same way sites are, to reduce fire, electrical fault risks and damage to hookup installations. Europe has already reduced hookup amps to 5amp trips, but that for another time.
We do advertise that we don't provide wifi at the time of booking, as remote locations such as ours, are still not connected to fibre networks, as found in the urban areas, but there is good 4/5G signal.
Again thanks for the feedback and your review and we look forward to welcoming you back.

Liked: Beautiful site. Nice facilities. Lovely view too. Good location.
Disliked: We arrived late, totally our fault after unforseen circumstances but we were met with a good telling off and told that we could be refused entry etc. We were eventually allowed to stay providing we waited for a while as the owner was busy and needed to explain our pitches to us.
I do see that being late isn't ok, but a simple self check in system would solve this, a list on the window with pitch numbers etc. There was nothing to actually show us to check in and the lecture did rather dampen spirits after an already challenging day.
Additionally, this isn't a cheap site. For the cost I'd expect a kinder welcome.

Liked: Welcomed on arrival to be taken to output h with fabulous scenery! Lindsey was extremely helpful during our stay. The site facilities are perfect and clean. Shower lovely & hot. We loved it so much decided to stay another night. Would definitely recommend for families. Pitches great size. Would recommend pitch 7 or 8 for campervans, has amazing view of a lake.Puctures do not do this place justice. Would recommend using the hot tub which you can hire for an hour with a lovely cold bottle prosecco! Again with fabulous views. I would say this is one of the best campsites I’ve ever used & we plan to come back.
