  • Glamping site on a working smallholding four miles from Morpeth
  • A 15-minute drive from Blyth beach and Northumberland Country Zoo
  • Handily within walking distance of a café, farm shop and village pub
Get your glamping fix at Plain Jane Glamping, a family-friendly site which is part of a working smallholding four miles from Morpeth and 15 minutes’ drive away from the Northumberland coast. With beaches like Blyth beach so easy to get to (just 15 minutes’ drive, in this case), you’ll be well-situated for activities like diving, watersports and coastal walks. Winding down and getting back to nature is easy here, watching the squirrels scurry about to gather nuts and swallows swooping and diving overhead. If you’re lucky, the barn owl might be settling in for tea too. If you’re already dreaming of all the tasty things your taste buds might encounter on your Northumberland getaway, you’re in luck. Plain Jane Glamping is five minutes’ walk away from a farm shop and a café (pick up a coffee or some bits for a barbecue). There’s an Indian restaurant 10 minutes’ walk away and a pub 40 minutes’ walk away too. If you’re after more to munch on, there’s a cheese farm shop 10 minutes’ drive away and a centre with café refreshments and a country shopping experience 15 minutes’ drive away. Plus, lively Morpeth has supermarkets, shops, a park, craft centre and a bagpipe museum. Whether it’s just a one-night stopover or a longer break, there’s easy access to the A1 under two miles away, so it’s easy to get to your day trip destination or next stop. Each accommodation comes with its own parking space (and if you need it, the site can provide a trolley to transport any belongings).

Bella Boo bell tent

Liked: The site was easy to find, on arrival the host Jane and husband were very welcoming and saw to our every need. The tent/kitchen/toilet facilities were very clean and everything was provided as detailed on the website. The site was very spacious and my daughter loved to roam around and look at the farm animals that live around the site. Would definitely recommend this site, was priced very reasonably and would come again.

Disliked: Not really a dislike or criticism, but I would recommend that light sleepers bring ear plugs when staying on the site due to being a few hundred metres from a railway line. Also the early morning wake up call from the chickens and ducks can get a little noisy!
