This clean, peaceful park offers spacious sites, friendly staff, and excellent restrooms. Enjoy the onsite pub, kids' play area, and woodland walks with abundant rabbits. Approach roads can be narrow; Wi-Fi and play area noise occasionally noted.

Cedar Close FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (water hook-up)

Liked Lovely site. Kids park is great. Staff are lovely. Good selections of drinks in the bar.

Disliked Not allowed to take dog inside the bar area.
Which I fully understand but my recommendation would be make outside a bit more comfortable with people with dogs, for example heaters a canopy or something. We would of spent much more time and money there but with a dog we had to go when the rain started.
Phone reception not very good either. WiFi on site only works in the bar area.

Liked Everything! It was a beautiful site that was well maintained, picturesque, quiet, great facilities and a lovely woodland walk. The warden was friendly and very helpful and the bunnies running around were an added bonus even though our dog wanted to play with them lol.

Cedar Close FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (water hook-up)

Liked Pretty much Everything. The Warden was fantastic, friendly, helpful & couldn't do enough for everyone. Site location was great, clean, peaceful, with great walks in the forest.

Disliked Road to & from is quite uneven & single track, for a good way before you reach the site, entry road into site is the worst bit.

Local attractions

Must be within reach of a golf course at all times? Then it’ll be handy to know that Springhouse Boutique Holiday Park is a 10-minute drive from the nearest one. If you prefer activities that’ll push your limits, try out the zipwires at Go Ape Matfen (25 minutes) or the sailing, windsurfing and open-water swimming organised by the sailing club at Derwent Reservoir (15 minutes). One big attraction around these parts is Beamish, the Living Museum of the North (40 minutes). Spread out across the countryside, its open-air exhibits re-tell the lives of local British people from the 1820s through to the 1950s. Of course, you don’t want to forget about Northumberland National Park (40 minutes) either, especially if you like hiking. The national park trails weave past hillforts, quarries, Hadrian’s Wall, hills and crags. Kielder Water (an hour) is one of the national park’s many spectacular spots, with trails heading into the forest or around the 26-mile shore. Stop by the osprey viewing point to try your luck, before sipping on a hot brew in the café.
