  • Quiet pop-up farm site on the edge of the Northumberland coast
  • Alnwick 10 minutes' drive; Seahouses a quarter of an hour away
  • Set on a working arable and sheep farm; dogs on leads welcome
Gallowmoor Farm is a small, friendly pop-up farm site in the scenic county of Northumberland, close to the edge of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is part of a working arable and sheep farm but located away from most of the agricultural activity, giving you a taste of rural life with plenty of peace and quiet. With a limited number of spacious pitches, guests here can look forward to a laidback camping experience. The pitches are separated by a tree on either side, for shade and extra privacy. Facilities are simple, but you'll have access to drinking water and basic portable toilets. Other amenities are within easy reach, though, as Gallowmoor Farm is about a mile and a half from Rennington's village pub and a 10-minute drive from the larger town of Alnwick, where supermarkets, shops and cafés are available. Gallowmoor Farm is about two miles from the A1, making it an excellent stopover for north-south road trips as well as a top pick for longer stays close to the varied attractions of the Northumberland coast. Well-behaved dogs are allowed, but out of consideration towards other guests and the livestock in neighbouring fields, please make sure that they are kept on a lead at all times.

What customers say

Gallowmoor Farm Camping offers a peaceful, simple camping experience in a beautiful rural setting. Generously sized, private pitches are often tree-lined. The location is convenient for exploring the Northumberland coast and nearby castles. Basic facilities, including clean portaloos and water taps, are noted to be reflected in the price. While occasional noise from trains and farm vehicles is mentioned, most guests found the atmosphere quiet and relaxing, with friendly, helpful owners frequently highlighted.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Great little spot, quiet and remote but only a ten minute drive to Alnwick centre, lots of space in the pitches which are marked out by a lovely tree line, plenty of space for the kids to play with balls, frisby etc and lastly - most immaculate portaloo I've ever seen! Abbie was lovely and welcoming contacting by text prior to arriving and when cleaning facilities.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked I loved the peaceful, off-grid atmosphere at Gallowmoor Farm Camping — waking up to birdsong, cooking over an open fire, and watching the stars without any light pollution made the whole experience feel truly wild and relaxing.

Disliked The facilities at Gallowmoor Farm are quite basic, which adds to its rustic, back-to-nature charm. It’s also located near a railway line, so you may occasionally hear trains passing — something to keep in mind if you're after complete silence.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The pitch sizes are amazing and the trees really gave a sense of privacy. The toilet was always well stocked and clean. It was so peaceful, I slept better than I do at home. We didn't have the weather, but we still had a fantastic time and would not hesitate returning for a weekend break. The fact there aren't any showers, can make it tricky but this is offset by a very peaceful place to camp, with a maximum of 13 pitches.
