What customers say
This no-frills campsite in Yorkshire Dales has stunning views & peaceful vibes. Reviewers love the friendly owners, big pitches & nearby pubs/walks. Facilities are clean for short stays, though the single toilet is a walk away. Remote setting & no cell signal are seen as pros for a digital detox. Note the basic setup & access via ford/stepping stones.

Cheap and cheerful but not for the faint hearted
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The views were spectacular. The height meant a breeze so no midges. No light pollution so amazing stars. Very cheap. Per pitch not per person. Very peaceful. And the owner is lovely
Disliked No hot water in the one loo that was also too far from the site - over a ford (via stepping stones) and through a farm gate.
Nor was there a hook or shelf for belongings whilst using it.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Fantastic views! Really great location. CB Inn and Red Lion pub a short walk away. Nice quiet campsite and Cheryl was a great communicator. If you want the full Dales experience I would highly recommend camping here.
Disliked Nothing - no shower or WiFi but this is clearly stated in the site description so you know this going in.

Minimal and brilliant
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Really loved this site. Very minimal, which I loved. Just a field in a valley. Tap water by the gate and bins nearby to get rid of rubbish. Toilet a short walk next to the farm house. That's it. Very quiet, amazing views, will definitely go again.
Disliked No shower, but that's fine because I got one of those portable ones you use with your own bucket.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked This is very remote campsite. A field on a farm, toilet facilities are clean and tidy next to the farmhouse. Beautiful setting, there is a pub up the road which I’d say a 20 min walk.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Lovely views from the site and some decent walks around.
Pitches were fine with plenty of space.
Site was very peaceful and slept like a log.
Spot on facilities
No signal but i prefer being off grid 😁
Disliked Only tiny flaw in my opinion was the trek to toilets through the night going over the stepping stones and going over the wall or gate to get through.
