What customers say
Remote, back-to-basics site with stunning views & quiet escape. Guests love friendly owners, beautiful location, great value. Basic but clean facilities, toilet a short walk (sometimes across ford/stepping stones). Some note walk to facilities/no showers/signal, but most find simplicity & quiet ideal for Dales. Field access may be tricky in wet weather.

Good to know there are still simple no nonsense campsites around
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked We enjoyed our easy one night stay. We were a bit nervous as we had borrowed a friend's VW camper van and were new to van camping but it was fine and we had no problem with traction on the field as it was bone dry.
Disliked The field access through the gate could be a problem in wet weather especially exiting.

Disliked Loo was a bit far away and some wouldn’t like the stepping stones but it didn’t really detract

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Very picturesque site, surrounded by hills and sheep. Very quiet and peaceful, a toilet is also on site a little walk from the site. Cheryl the host is a very lovely lady also, 2 pubs to choose from a 15 minute walk away.
Disliked Nothing, apart from the grass being a little too long

A rare find away from it all
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked The campsite was basic as we expected, views over valley amazing, nice to be greeted and chat to the owner.
Funny grumpy landlady in pub 10 mins away
Disliked No shower

Wonderful location well worth the pitch price.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Loved the view. Quiet and undisturbed. Beautiful location. Clean toilet well lit.
Disliked A little bit of trek to the toilet from the field, especially in the dark. Bring a torch!

Cheap and cheerful but not for the faint hearted
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The views were spectacular. The height meant a breeze so no midges. No light pollution so amazing stars. Very cheap. Per pitch not per person. Very peaceful. And the owner is lovely
Disliked No hot water in the one loo that was also too far from the site - over a ford (via stepping stones) and through a farm gate.
Nor was there a hook or shelf for belongings whilst using it.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Fantastic views! Really great location. CB Inn and Red Lion pub a short walk away. Nice quiet campsite and Cheryl was a great communicator. If you want the full Dales experience I would highly recommend camping here.
Disliked Nothing - no shower or WiFi but this is clearly stated in the site description so you know this going in.

Minimal and brilliant
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Really loved this site. Very minimal, which I loved. Just a field in a valley. Tap water by the gate and bins nearby to get rid of rubbish. Toilet a short walk next to the farm house. That's it. Very quiet, amazing views, will definitely go again.
Disliked No shower, but that's fine because I got one of those portable ones you use with your own bucket.
