Ash Keys Caravan Park is a family-friendly site in a quiet corner of a family-run 165-acre farm. This peaceful spot is at the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, half a mile from the teeny hamlet of Eshton and five minutes’ drive from more extensive amenities (pubs, takeaways and small supermarkets) in Gargrave. This is a most handy spot to settle in for outdoor activities: you can take walks or bike rides directly from the park, join nearby major trails like the Pennine Way (three quarters of a mile from the park), Way of the Roses and National Cycle Network Route 68. The fab attractions around Malham (Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar) are about a 15-minute drive away. The well-kept pitches here all have electricity, water hookups and grey waste drains. The facilities block houses toilets and showers, a washing-up area and an information hub, and there are also recycling facilities and an Elsan point close by. Dogs are welcome on site and have their own dedicated exercise area where they can have a good run about. Barbecues are also permitted, and perhaps at their finest when graced with good food from one of the three excellent farm shops within a 10-minute drive.

Liked Nice large pitched with water and mains at every pitch , nice touch to have an Ariel lead at each pitch too with some having security posts for locking cycles to .
New shower block very good , loads hot water , information hub great with walking routes printed , dvd exchange and games available.

Disliked Only two showers in each men’s and woman’s didn’t bother us at the end of February but guess there will be queues when it’s busy , would have liked a shelf or somthing somewhere off the floor to put my toiletry bag etc too . 2 mile walk to pub , but knew this when booking. WiFi patchy at busy times.

Liked Excellent site, very clean and tidy. Spacious pitches with all services. No tv signal (unless you like shopping channels and police interceptors) although to be fair the Wi-Fi signal was excellent and this is a first! Location is very isolated, a long walk to the nearest shop or pub, so if you like hiking and a remote peaceful environment then this is ideal for you.

Disliked Too distant from shops or pub but this is our personal choice

Liked Spacious pitches gorgeous views information pod is very handy with lots of different information on great for star spotting because of the no lighting

Disliked Toilet roll didn’t get filled up frequently enough
Only Cold water for the dog showers didn’t use as it was end of Feb so was freezing therefore dogs would have been ice cold , warmer water recommended

Liked Spacious pitches plenty of room in-between lovely welcome from owners we had the brother in-law and niece in tow was a great night lovely clean facilities shower was red hot 🥵 Saturday morning love it will definitely be back

Local attractions

If you’re not planning lengthy rambles on the long-distance paths, set forth for some of the local highlights instead. Get going in Gargrave (five minutes’ drive) with a waterside walk by the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, then see cascades in action at Linton Falls (20 minutes). Make time for Malham too: a 15-minute drive gets you over to this fab village and its trio of top sights (Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar). After that, take an uphill challenge on the mountain paths of Pen-y-Ghent (35 minutes) or head underground to see what’s in store at Ingleborough Cave (40 minutes). Other ways to get about? Perhaps with a day of horse riding from Kilnsey or a rather more laidback trip on the Settle-Carlisle Railway – both are about 20 minutes’ drive away. And if you’ve got tiddlers who’d benefit from staying in one place for a while, there’s plenty to keep them amused among the animals, tractor tours and play areas of Hesketh Farm Park (20 minutes).
