  • Adults-only pitches in 10 acres of parkland with mature oak trees
  • Market Weighton 20 minutes’ drive; York 35 minutes
  • Farm shop and pub-restaurant five minutes' drive; golf and spa nearby
If you’re on the search for an adults-only spot to recharge your batteries, take a good long look at Yor Hideaway in North Yorkshire. A 35-minute drive away from York, the pitches here are in 10 acres of peaceful and pretty parkland with mature oak trees around the perimeter. Everyday essentials should be nice and straightforward here, as the village of Bubwith is a five-minute drive away. It has a pub-restaurant, an Indian restaurant and takeaway, a handy farm shop and a convenience shop to boot. Yor Hideaway itself backs onto a large 18-hole golf course with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and gym, so don’t be shy about walking or driving over and treating yourself to a day of teeing off or indulging yourself at the spa. For days out shopping, the market towns of Howden and Market Weighton are a 15- to 20-minute drive away. What about the facilities on site? Drinking water and toilet facilities are available, but take note that there are no showers. Dogs are welcome to accompany you, as long as they’re kept on a lead. You also have the green light to have a barbecue (raised off the ground).

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely, quiet setting - a real hideaway. Loved the free to use badminton, table tennis and archery that was available to everyone on the site.

Disliked The toilet facilities. Luckily there was only one other couple there at the time of our stay but, if it was busier, this would have been an issue as it was unisex facilities but only one room. Did not like that the facilities were not plumbed either - just a hole in the bench and a bucket of sawdust! I did manage to use it but, if I had known this beforehand, I would not have stayed.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Such a lovely stay. Was so peaceful and quiet. We loved the little onsite activities you could use at your leisure, though archery clearly isn’t my thing - haha. The toilets were clean and we loved that it was adult only
