What customers say
Exceptionally clean and well-kept. Guests rave about spotless restrooms, friendly staff, and spacious sites. The cafe & shop are excellent. Peaceful, great location. Minor downsides: few nearby shops, occasional path/Wi-Fi issues. Highly recommended, many plan to return.

Another excellent stay at one of the best caravan parks

Liked We stayed here in 2021 and returned this year. The park is absolutely spotless, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Shower blocks are very modern and always clean and the wee cafe onsite was super too.

Very clean and peaceful site but don't ask the Warden for help
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The campsite was very clean and peaceful. Lovely and quiet and spacious. It had a field nextdoor for the kids (or dogs) to play on - lots of space. The site for our tent was great and spacious (not cramped with other tents). The facilities were very good - very clean and had everything you needed. Check in was easy.
Disliked At 1030pm as we were trying to go to sleep we heard a beeping noise. This went on for over half an hour until I got up to investigate as my daughter could not sleep because of it. A few people had gathered outside a caravan and they explained they thought it was an alarm going off inside. I walked to the main desk and rang the emergency number given on the door. The warden was extremely rude - she announced 'I was just about to go to sleep!'. I explained what had happened and did she had keys to go into the caravan and turn off the alarm. When she arrived on site she completely ignored me and then went I attempted to speak with her she snapped 'I am dealing with it'. Eventually she told us to go back to our tent as she would have to go and get the keys. I was very shocked at how rude she was. The noise eventually stopped after another 20mins so my 10 year old went to sleep after midnight by this point.

Not for us!
Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Friendly receptionist.
Toilet block was clean.
Site was clean and tidy.
Microwave and freezer in potwash area - though I didn't realise that until we were leaving.
Good play area for children.
Disliked We were in a beautiful area, but we had no views.
Lack of privacy - our pitch was on a corner, so we had people just behind us, plus people at the side and in front. The people next to us were sitting right beside our motorhome - using their barbecue next to a gas container!!! Planting hedges in between the pitches would help.
Not enough soap dispensers in the men's shower block.
No recycling bins - bar for glass.
Grey waste disposal very awkward to drive over. We had to drive in at an angle almost into the building! A drive over grid would be so much better.
There is some road noise.

From the manager: Thank you for reviewing your stay with us.
We are pleased to read that you found our facilities and site clean and tidy which is of the upmost importance to us.
Just to address a couple of points you have mentioned :-
We have a soap dispenser at the hand wash sink in the gents and in the accessible cubicle. Where else do we need one?
We have 6 x 1100 litre recycling bins that are emptied weekly. These are positioned next to the glass recycling which you have seen so i'm not sure how you didn't see this facility.
Would definitely come back again and recommend it to friends

Liked A lovely clean spacious camp site, the facilities are immaculate, showers, toilets etc, they have a lovely Cafe on site selling scrumptious food.
Peaceful on an evening and in lovely countryside.
Disliked Not enough amenities very close by, nearest pub is over a mile away.
I dislike pitching up and then putting things away again to drive out.
It’s the same at many camp sites, not just this one.

Liked The site was immaculately clean with great facilities. Upon arrival we received a friendly, helpful welcome which we appreciated. There was a great cafe on site which we gladly took advantage of serving pizzas, chips etc. Showers and bathroom facilities were superb. Well stocked shop on site open until 8pm. We also like the quiet and respectful atmosphere across the whole site.

Liked The overall ambience of the site. Thee Park cafe. The lovely ladies in Reception and Shop. The attention of the maintenance staff to the cleanliness and well running of the site. The convenience of the hook-up a d the built-in water point. The well appointed facilities. The weekly fish and chip van. The North Yorkshire Moors and the Wolds on the sites doorstep. The local pubs and the local towns; Thornton le Dale and Helmsley were a couple of our favourites.
Vale of Pickering Caravan Park is definitely deserving of many more visits.
Disliked The entrance to the site from the road can be tricky. Can the hedge around the field opposite be cut down a bit more to make it easier to see and be seen when turning?
I'm sure there's something else, but nothing of any real note springs to mind.
