Good morning enholmes meadow

Main drive along the side of enholmes plantation

  • Family-friendly camping field on an East Yorkshire country estate
  • A 15-minute drive from Withernsea beach and 35 minutes from Hull
  • Country walks nearby; half an hour’s walk to pubs, shops and bakeries
When it’s time for a family camping break, you’ll need somewhere peaceful with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The tents-only site at Enholmes Meadow, five minutes’ drive or half an hour’s walk from Patrington in rural East Yorkshire, is just such a spot. With an elegant backdrop of historic Enholmes Hall, the camping field has only a handful of spacious pitches and plenty of acreage for kids and dogs to have a proper (and safe) run around. The site itself is something of a wildlife haven where you can spot wild orchids (in season), enjoy colourful sunrises or sunsets, and often catch sight of owls, deer and hares. You have lots of chances to enjoy time in nature too, whether you venture out on country walks directly from your pitch, drive to Withernsea (15 minutes) for some beachcombing, or go birdwatching in the Spurn National Nature Reserve (20 minutes). Back at base camp, facilities include modern loos and showers with bags of hot water. There’s also an informal club house (converted from stables), where you can get together for drinks. Trees line the camping meadow, providing helpful shelter if you fancy sparking up a barbecue – source baked goods and essentials in Patrington, or give up on the idea of alfresco catering and head to the village pub or chip shop instead.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Wild camping, back to basics camping field. Perfect if you are looking for a peaceful site shared with the wildlife. If you you are going here looking for full amenities campsite it is not for you. Sitting and drinking your morning brew watching the deer run though is the vibe here... perfect for us and just what we love.

Has small toilet and shower facilities.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely couple who own the site , lovely house nice and quiet seen as we was the only ones on the pitch ,the only thing I would suggest either some toilets closer to the pitch or some lights to the toilets but apart from that we loved every second of our trip

Disliked The 4am walk to the toilet can be quite scary

Peaceful, clean, feels like wild camping but with lovely loos

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked An absolutely beautiful site in a gorgeous location, 15 min walk from the village but it feels remote and peaceful. The friendly owners limit the numbers and the field is vast, so it would never get busy. I had the place to myself for two nights. Very clean toilet and shower blocks by the main house, and there are fire pits to rent. The owner will open up the bar if you ask. Lovely site, and I felt safe and welcome as a solo female. Friendly wildlife as well - the deer paid me a visit one morning.

Disliked Could do with some bins but it’s no hardship to take your rubbish away. Feels even more like wild camping.

Excellent site - lots of space and very quiet. Rustic and friendly

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked For me, this site was absolutely perfect. If you like wild camping/solitude/peace and quiet, then this is the perfect place.
Lucky for me I had the whole field to myself. Only shared it with deer, owls, bats, some screaming foxes, and a couple of hedgehogs!
No car noise, nothing to disturb me.
Even if there are other campers there, you'll still find a quiet spot. There's a ton of room and I know they don't want to crowd the place so it will always be spacious.
If you're there late summer/autumn, bring your fly spray. The mozzies are keen!
Nice little toilet and shower block as well with individual cubicles.
Firewood also available on site.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked This is an amazing place to stay, very peaceful and very spread out, plenty of room for children to play and dogs to have a run about. The owner is very friendly and always around to have a chat and help if needed. Toilets and showers very clean. We would definitely stay here again it really helps having so much room and not packed in all on top of each other

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Super little campsite, lots of space per pitch, great toilet/shower facilities with outdoor tap and fire pits/wood to hire.
Lovely family hosts - on hand at all times, friendly and sociable.
Quiet and peaceful, even on August BH - nice not to have to fight for space. Lovely meadow and natural wooded areas to explore too.
