What customers say
Highly recommended, especially for families. Guests love the spacious, neat sites, amazing views, and great kids' playground. The pub gets rave reviews for its delicious food, particularly Sunday roasts and takeout. Clean restrooms, friendly hosts, and staff are frequently praised. Some noted occasional pub hour inconsistencies and slightly older amenities, but overall, a very positive experience.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Brilliant little campsite. The play park is brilliant for kids and the food is fantastic in the pub, especially the Sunday dinners, those are a must. We stayed on pitch 1 opposite the play park which was brilliant for watching our little one right from our pitch. Best thing about the whole place is the Hospitality, really lovely owners, this one is a must.
Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Quiet and clean site, everyone we met very friendly, food very nice, great park for the kids, just got left alone and left to it by the owner, shower and toilet area clean.
Disliked The owner charging me for a baby bowl on the carvery after i spent money on drinks there friday night, drinks and food saturday night and then carvery sunday morning and we asked for a spare plate for my 3 year old and was told no and that we had to pay £3 for a “baby bowl” which wasnt listed on the menu on the bar, bit of a piss take really. Its not the money its just the principle, only thing that bugged me really!

Liked Pitch sizes were huge. Views were superb. Play area was great for our 9 year old boy. Showers were clean and really powerful for an electric shower. Close to a Bishop Auckland with shops and restaurants, we had a fab visit to Auckland Palace. Close to Beamish. Close to Shildon Railway Museum.
Disliked Prices of drinks in the pub were quite high.
