Four Acre Farm, in a quiet Norfolk location a couple of miles from Aylsham, is a place that you’ll really be able to call your own for a little while. There’s just the one shepherd’s hut here, so that means plenty of privacy and space to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. It’s an adults-only setup here, but you’re welcome to bring your dog along to share your break if you like – the hut is enclosed within its own orchard so they’ll be able to sniff about safely enough, and there are plenty of walks nearby, whether you’re accompanied by a dog or not. One particularly fine short walk takes you to the local pub for hot meals and all manner of refreshments, but you might also like to get out onto several miles of disused railway line close by, or take the short drive to the coast for seaside strolls. For more eats, take the five-minute drive to Aylsham for pubs and takeaways or to pick up supplies for cookout on your barbecue by the hut – there’s a supermarket in town along with a farmers’ market twice a week. If you don’t fancy outdoor cooking, there’s also a handy kitchenette in the hut, with a gas hob and grill plus a full complement of utensils, crockery and the like. Other facilities in the hut include a woodburning stove (with a pile of fuel provided and more available to buy), a TV and a table and chairs. All bedding is provided for the double bed, as are towels for your individual shower hut just behind the shepherd’s hut.
