  • Peaceful Norfolk site on the outskirts of Warham village
  • Five minutes’ drive to Wells-next-the-Sea; Holkham Beach 10 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches 20 minutes’ walk from a good local pub
Wondering where to take your next family break? Wonder no more; just book your pitch at North Norfolk’s Grove Farm Campsite, a small, quiet spot on the outskirts of the flint-built village of Warham. Low-key, peaceful and calm, the site is nevertheless handy for strolls to the local pub, dog walks in the Norfolk Coast National Landscape wetlands (10 minutes’ drive), days out on the beach (and harbour tours) at Wells-next-the-Sea (five minutes) and visits to stately homes or ancient forts. There is a bus stop just a short walk away, and the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway is less than five minutes’ walk away from the site. The two pitching fields (the tourer pitches have electric hook-ups, the tent pitches do not) have countryside views and are sheltered by mature trees. On sunny afternoons, red kites are often spotted soaring above the meadows, and in the evening, you may get lucky enough to catch a glimpse of deer grazing in the meadows. There are firepits for hire (and logs for sale) on site. Barbecues are permitted for family meals on site, but if you’re looking to eat out, take a 20-minute stroll (mostly along a road) to the local pub to sample home-cooked pies, classic pub dishes and traditional Sunday roasts. There are also plenty of other eateries within a short drive of the site.

What customers say

This is a quiet, well-kept campsite in a beautiful rural setting. Guests love the spacious sites, stunning views, and abundant wildlife. Facilities are basic, focusing on a back-to-nature experience with a clean composting toilet. Owners are often called friendly and helpful. Great for exploring Wells-next-the-Sea and North Norfolk. Some guests noted early morning rooster noise.

Silkie primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Scenery is fantastic. Beautiful fields annd forest either side and on the walk to the camp with plenty of fluffy fields of golden wheat. Small and intimate campsite with lots of wildlife.

Services were basic but sufficient. The firepits were a fantastic addition!

Disliked Some noise from cockerels nearby at 4am, so earplugs recommended if easily woken.

Bantam powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Peaceful and pretty location with plenty of wildlife on view (Red Kites, Muntjak deer, free to roam chickens).
Adequate pitch space with very friendly campers on site. We would of definately spent another night here if it had been available.
Good location to visit other places of interest. Able to walk our dog nearby.

Disliked We have a campervan but did not require electricity. We would have loved to camp at the far end of the site where the tents were rather than on an electric motor home pitch. No washing facilities of any kind.

Local attractions

Warham Camp (five minutes’ drive) is a large, circular Iron Age fort built by the local Iceni tribe on the River Stiffkey. Archaeological excavations have yielded ancient artefacts including shards of Roman pottery. For somewhat more recent history, head to Binham Priory (10 minutes), the ruins of an 11th-century Benedictine monastery. Deer roam the parkland at Holkham Hall (15 minutes), a Palladian-style mansion built in the 1700s. Its exquisitely proportioned, elegant rooms include the colonnaded Marble Hall, with a domed ceiling inspired by Rome’s Pantheon. Check out the collection of landscape paintings and the library, then hire a rowing boat to explore the pretty lake. Seaside adventures await at Holkham Beach (10 minutes), an expansive stretch of sand backed by vegetation-covered dunes that provide shelter to nesting birds such as terns and oystercatchers. There are several hides in the nearby pine grove. For more birdwatching action, walk west to the salt marshes and mud flats of Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve.
