  • Peaceful adults-only site outside the village of Felthorpe, Norfolk
  • Norwich 25 minutes’ drive; Broads National Park half an hour
  • Wellness area on site with sauna, plunge pool and beauty treatments
Leave the kids with their grandparents (but bring the dog…) and treat your other half to a romantic weekend in the Norfolk countryside. In order for romance to thrive, though, you need a peaceful setting, and that’s exactly what awaits at Breezy Acre. At this adults-only site about a mile outside the village of Felthorpe (it’s a 15-minute walk to the village pub), you and your beloved should be able to find the quiet to recharge your batteries. If peace and tranquillity don’t make a dent on your stress levels, how about this? The site also has a wellness area, so you can pamper yourself with a relaxing beauty treatment or a session in the wood-fired sauna (followed by an invigorating plunge-pool dip, of course). There are two fishing lakes, a couple of golf clubs and a handful of pubs serving food within a 10-minute drive of the site. Or you might want to explore your natural surroundings, taking the dog for a walk (on a lead, mind) in Broadland Country Park, Alderford Common or the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's Buxton Heath (all five minutes’ drive). These areas of woodland and heathland attract plenty of birds and butterflies. Or maybe you’d prefer to head to the coast. Cromer is half an hour away, and after fish and chips on the beach, you might want to check out what’s on at the Pavilion Theatre on the pier.

What customers say

This adult-only site gets rave reviews for its peaceful vibe, welcoming owners, and spotless facilities. Guests loved the modern feel, spa, sauna, and plunge pool. Spacious, level pitches are a plus, with some shaded spots. Plans for more restrooms and a dishwashing area are in the works. Great base for exploring Norwich and the coast.

Liked Super quiet and compact rural adult-only site. Beautiful sunset views. Nicely presented facilities, but (like others have said) will really benefit from having a second shower/toilet and having washing up facilities.

Liked Really lovely, quiet site with electric hook up on some pitches. I stayed just for a quiet night away with a friend to hang out and catch up. Added bonus we got to use the spa facilities for an hour at an extra cost. Gorgeous wood fired sauna and cold plunge pool available (I did not use) apart from the radiator n which stopped us sitting outside it was the perfect spa night away. Shower and toilet facilities very clean, warm and modern. Didn’t need any WiFi as had phone signal.

Disliked There is only one shower and toilet which was fine as only 7 pitches in use, this could be a problem if site is full. We did have to wait to use the shower but we weren’t bothered. Also because the toilet is in with the shower if you need the toilet you have to wait if someone is showering, could be an issue if you are bursting to go.

Liked We loved it here! The hosts were warm and welcoming, the pitch was lovely and flat, the whole site was quiet and just had a really lovely feel to it.

It’s a new site with ten pitches, so it felt private and never too busy. The site is surrounded by trees so there was always a good bit of shade to be in. Plenty of space to park your car, set up your tents and plug in your electricity. We also had BBQs and gazebos on our pitches too which was absolutely fine to do.

We stayed for a treatment on the last day which was wonderful - a very good therapist and beautiful little spot! Great location and perfect for a day trip to
The Broads! We loved it and it reignited our love for camping again!

Disliked Although the toilet and shower block was absolutely spotless, clean and fresh, there was only one of them. Luckily the site wasn’t busy but I can imagine if all ten pitches are booked, a queue for the loo will form quite quickly. There isn’t anywhere to wash up. Having spoken to the owners, they have plans to improve both these things so I’m looking forward to returning next year and having an even more amazing experience!

Liked A new, adult only campsite with very friendly and welcoming owners, Located near lovely walks and a pub. Shops with driving distance. The wellness centre was lovely and an added bonus. There was only one toilet / shower but from speaking to the owners, we are aware there are plans for more and a washing up area very soon. That said, there was never a queue for the washroom. Very chilled and friendly atmosphere. Everything on site is easily accessible; washroom, bins, water, etc. all very clean and well maintained. can’t wait to go back and see how this little develops.

Chris and Tam have done a fantastic job so far on this site 👏

Disliked Pitches are a little close together but everyone was friendly so wasn’t too bad. Pitch 1 is close to the wellness shed so some relaxing music in there would add to the atmosphere and block out any possible noise.

Local attractions

After visiting the imposing 11th-century cathedral in Norwich (25 minutes’ drive), check out the collections on display at Norwich Castle, which include ancient Egyptian and Roman artefacts, Anglo-Saxon objects and items related to the Royal Norfolk Regiment. Stay until the evening to catch a musical or a comedy performance at the Norwich Theatre. On your way to Cromer (half an hour), stop at National Trust - Felbrigg Hall, Gardens & Estate, a 17th-century country house with a pretty walled garden planted to fragrant herbs. Then it’s on to Cromer and the coast: stroll along Cromer Esplanade (see if you can spot Banksy’s ‘Luxury Rentals Only’ artwork), then climb up Cromer Ridge to reach the lighthouse. The best way to explore the Broads National Park (half an hour) is probably by boat. This expansive area of wetlands and waterways is home to a wide variety of birdlife, including bitterns and marsh harriers, plus water shrews and otters.
