  • Traditional family site in meadows around a working farm
  • Away from main roads, half an hour's drive from Norwich
  • Shop on site; wildlife haven with woodland and plenty of space
Your fledglings should love this farm site – and those in charge of the flock are very likely to agree. Park Farm Camping is a family- and dog-friendly site just outside the peaceful village of Swanton Morley in rural Norfolk, half an hour's drive away from Norwich. Run by locals, Hannah and Ryan, the site's grass pitches are simple but don't skimp on amenities either; there is a heated shower and toilet block. The pitches are in meadows around a working farm, with wildlife all around and farm animals to see in the next field. The village pub and shop are only a 15-minute walk away, although there is also a small shop on site where guests can pick up essentials. There’s heaps of space even in the height of summer for all the herd (including the dog) to run around, as well as a wood to explore and a small play area to swing around – with everything secluded away from main roads for chicks to be safely free range. All this, and campfires are allowed too. Use Park Farm Camping as a base to explore north Norfolk and Norwich, or stay close to home and explore the paths and lanes for walking and pedalling around the Wensum Valley: leaflets and brochures on acres’ worth of visitor attractions are at the Park Farm reception. The River Wensum is on the edge of the farm estate with free fishing for site guests on the two miles where the river flows through nearby Castle Farm (not available during the season from mid-March to mid-June).

Liked A lovely peaceful campsite set in beautiful scenery. Was just what we were looking for. Met up with some friends and their 4 year old. Lovely little play park. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Plenty of washing up spaces. Didn’t have to queue for anything. Electricity and water points were nice and close to the pitches. Would definitely visit again.

Disliked There were a lot of earwigs at pack down 🤣 can’t fault the campsite for anything to be honest.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The location. A really good river walk that's about 3-4 miles long. The site itself is big and I found I was the only campervan on the site when I stayed so I had the pick of the pitches. There's a pub about 3/4 mile away. Didn't go there but if I stayed again I would check it out; it's supposed to be really good. The shower block was fine, clean, and well equipped, hot water etc. The hosts were great. Thanks to Hannah and Dylan for a pleasant stay

Disliked Didn't dislike anything. I was only there for a night so didn't have the opportunity to check out everything in the area but the site itself was fine.

We will definitely be returning again this year, it's lovely!

Local attractions

Anglers can cast off at the Norfolk coast about half an hour away to try their luck at landing mackerel, bass and cod. You could pick a beach or seaside town to drive to every day of your holiday at Park Farm too: seal-spotting boat trips from Morston and Blakeney, as well as swishing around somewhat swanky Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Market (aka Chelsea-on-Sea) are all within 40 minutes' drive. Within 50, make for the Pleasure Beach (and racecourse) at Great Yarmouth or the crabbing, funfair and zoo at Cromer, both top picks for seaside antics. Other eclectic options within accessible reach of Park Farm Camping include padding around Liz II’s pad at royal Sandringham and other old houses like Holkham Hall: both are around 45 minutes away. Norwich is 25 minutes from the site.
