  • Award-winning family-owned north Norfolk holiday park
  • Within the Norfolk Coast National Landscape, a mile from Cromer
  • Dog-friendly site with woodland walks and a popular bar-restaurant
How would you like to stay at an award-winning forest park with walks through sheltered tree groves, a sun patio to bask on, plenty of play areas for the youngsters and hilltop viewpoints taking in a sandy beach, the Norfolk coastline and the famed golf course at Royal Cromer? You would? Then take the family tree to Forest Park, a pristinely pretty park set among 100 acres of the Norfolk Coast National Landscape. There’s loads to do on site alongside the woodland walks and gaping at the views, from the grassy space on site for kids to play ball games and run about to the cycling routes in the local area. Forest Park is a mile from the seaside town of Cromer, where there are plenty of restaurants dishing up Cromer crab. Back on site, there's a bar-restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (opening times vary). The well-stocked park shop sells fresh honey produced at the on-park bee hives, alongside fresh hot drinks made with locally sourced coffee beans and freshly baked croissants, bread and pastries: just follow your nose. Toys, camping equipment, newspapers, gifts and a good selection of groceries are also on offer.

What customers say

This well-kept spot offers a great location for town and beach strolls. Visitors rave about the friendly staff, clubhouse, pool, and woodland path. Clean, warm facilities, including restrooms and showers, are a plus. Some found Wi-Fi spotty, grass pitches sloped, and waste/accessible facilities limited. Restaurant service availability varies.

Liked Gorgeous woodland site, so clean and tidy everywhere. Fairy walk was beautiful and my boys loved seeing all the animals. We had some brilliant walks exploring the woods and down to Overstrand beach. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Shop on site and lovely bar/restaurant. Playgrounds great for kids and park felt safe and quiet.
Would highly recommend and we will definitely visit again ♥️

Liked The pitches were large and the facilities on park were good. There was a nice walk through the wooded area and the site was close to Cromer. There is a bus service not too far away. There is a small shop and bar available.

Disliked Our pitch was on a slope which we were informed about but, it was described as a ‘slight slope’. The slope was not slight, we had standard levelling blocks but these were inadequate for the incline. The toilet block was quite far away from our pitch and the nearest block was closed however, the toilets and shower were kept clean. The shop was well stocked but expensive and the bar is too small for the park, we couldn’t get a drink let alone a seat. We stood in the queue for 15/20 minutes but gave up as we had hardly moved. Because there is no dividing fence between the pitches and the park layout, people and children were walking through our space with no respect for our privacy.

Local attractions

From Forest Park, you can see the village of Overstrand, which has a beach; from here, walk the mile and a half into Cromer for its funfair, zoo, theatre, museums and that famed Cromer crab (buy in the town or catch your own off the pier). If you’re angling for other fishy treats, try fishing for bass off the pier or taking a boat out to sea to land some cod. Two long-distance walking routes finish in Cromer: the Norfolk Coast Path which runs 45 miles from here to Hunstanton and the Weavers’ Way, a 56-mile route going to Great Yarmouth. Wildlife including seabirds and seals can be spotted from many places along the coast, with seal-spotting boat trips available from Blakeney (half an hour's drive). The kids should enjoy days out to places like Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and the award-winning adventure park BeWILDerwood (both half an hour). Meanwhile, grown-up activity in the area includes exploring Norfolk’s many history and heritage sites: roam around the rhododendrons at Sheringham Park (15 minutes), check out the royal retreat of Sandringham (an hour) or get lost wandering around the Holkham estate (an hour) with beaches, nature reserve, woodland play area and outdoor theatre.
