How would you like to stay at an award-winning forest park with walks through sheltered tree groves, a sun patio to bask on, plenty of play areas for the youngsters and hilltop viewpoints taking in sandy beach, the Norfolk coastline and the famed golf course at Royal Cromer? You would? Then take the family tree to Forest Park Caravan Site, a pristinely pretty park set among 100 acres of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There’s loads to do on site alongside the woodland walks and gaping at the views, such as plenty of grassy space for ball games and outrunning the older folk, an indoor pool, and cycling routes around the site. Forest Park is a mile from the seaside town of Cromer where crabs have always been the cuisine du jour, but there’s plenty of fare dished up at the park too, with a clubhouse serving light lunches and refreshments (opening times vary). The well-stocked park shop sells toys, camping equipment, newspapers and gifts as well as a good selection of groceries, and there are freshly baked croissants, bread and pastries on offer too: just follow your nose.

Local attractions

From Forest Park you can see the village of Overstrand, which has a beach; from here, walk the mile and a half into Cromer for its funfair, zoo, theatre, museums and that famed Cromer crab (buy in the town or catch your own off the pier). If you’re angling for other fishy treats, try fishing for bass off the pier or taking a boat out to sea to land some cod. Two long-distance walking routes finish in Cromer: the Norfolk Coast Path which runs 45 miles from here to Hunstanton and the Weavers’ Way, a 56-mile route going to Great Yarmouth. Wildlife including seabirds and seals can be spotted from many places along the coast, with seal-spotting boat trips available from Blakeney (half an hour's drive). The kids should enjoy days out to places like Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and the award-winning adventure park BeWILDerwood (both half an hour). Meanwhile, grown-up activity in the area includes exploring Norfolk’s many history and heritage sites: roam around the rhododendrons at Sheringham Park (15 minutes), check out the royal retreat of Sandringham (an hour) or get lost wandering around the Holkham estate (an hour) with beaches, nature reserve, woodland play area and outdoor theatre.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

If the reception is closed on arrival, please check in at the Check in box by reception.
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The bar is open between 03/15 and 01/15.

The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Firearms are not permitted.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Sites

You must follow management instructions when setting up your tent/rig and related equipment.

Additional terms

The pitch will be available to the named occupants during the period shown on the confirmation letter received from Forest Park Caravan Site Ltd.
The hirer of the pitch must be 25 or older.
The park will not allow any mixed adult groups under 25s.
The area surrounding pitches must be kept clean and tidy at all times.
Tents can only be erected on designated areas.
All persons using the entertainment area must honour the Foresters Club rules. Membership is discretionary and may be withdrawn at any time by the park manager.
Litter and refuse must be disposed of in the designated areas provided by the park.
Ball games are to be played in designated areas and not between vans.
No motorcycles are allowed on the park without permission of the park manager.
Please keep barbeques away from caravans ant tents.
We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal property including motor vehicles whether malicious or accidental during your stay.
Personal travel insurance is not included in the cost of your holiday and, if required remains the responsibility of the occupants.
If arriving after 8pm, please notify reception as there are security barriers in operation.
