How would you like to stay at an award-winning forest park with walks through sheltered tree groves, a sun patio to bask on, plenty of play areas for the youngsters and hilltop viewpoints taking in a sandy beach, the Norfolk coastline and the famed golf course at Royal Cromer? You would? Then take the family tree to Forest Park, a pristinely pretty park set among 100 acres of the Norfolk Coast National Landscape. There’s loads to do on site alongside the woodland walks and gaping at the views, from the grassy space on site for kids to play ball games and run about to the cycling routes in the local area. Forest Park is a mile from the seaside town of Cromer, where there are plenty of restaurants dishing up Cromer crab. Back on site, there's a bar-restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (opening times vary). The well-stocked park shop sells fresh honey produced at the on-park bee hives, alongside fresh hot drinks made with locally sourced coffee beans and freshly baked croissants, bread and pastries: just follow your nose. Toys, camping equipment, newspapers, gifts and a good selection of groceries are also on offer.

喜欢 Spacious park, hot showers, great location for walks to the coast, good bar with excellent choices of beers

不喜欢 No grey water dump for motorhome (i.e. no grid to drive over) and no mops/squeegee in the showers to clean out after use.

喜欢 We stayed at pitch 146. Lovely as it was in the sun all day and nearly a flat pitch. Great walks into the woods and nearby towns. Lovely warm toilet blocks and always very clean. We did go mid week so wasn't very busy. Q good half hour walk into town.

不喜欢 The Elsin point. Very low and it splashed. Very smelly.

喜欢 Lovely clean site. Good location, only 40 min walk to Cromer. Lovely forest walks straight from the site. Site bar was very reasonable.

不喜欢 Showers were clean but no shelf or seat to put anything.

喜欢 The pitch was lovely the showers/toilets where our pitch was where the newer ones and couldn’t fault them showers lovely and hot

不喜欢 Not a great deal for kids to do on site would like more of a park

喜欢 Nice walks plenty to explore

不喜欢 Terrible pitch seemed like we was surrounded by white transit vans and other commercial vehicles. Most of Saturday afternoon was ruined by someone working on a lodge behind our pitch so went across to the bar to get some piece but someone was working on another static.

喜欢 Lovely site within walking distance of Cromer. Spacious pitches, Loads of green space and woodland walks. Warm, clean bathroom facilities. Welcoming bar/restaurant. The children's playpark and enclosed off-lead dog play area were also great additions.

喜欢 Excellent welcome from the reception team. Lots of information. Lovely site, showers were fabulous. Lovely meal in the club house. The size of the ribs was a big surprise. Easy cycle into Cromer.

喜欢 Beautifully clean and spacious site. Bar on site which was a bonus and a shop selling all the basics plus some treats. Will definately be back but probably out of high season as I imagine it gets very busy in the height of summer.

From Forest Park, you can see the village of Overstrand, which has a beach; from here, walk the mile and a half into Cromer for its funfair, zoo, theatre, museums and that famed Cromer crab (buy in the town or catch your own off the pier). If you’re angling for other fishy treats, try fishing for bass off the pier or taking a boat out to sea to land some cod. Two long-distance walking routes finish in Cromer: the Norfolk Coast Path which runs 45 miles from here to Hunstanton and the Weavers’ Way, a 56-mile route going to Great Yarmouth. Wildlife including seabirds and seals can be spotted from many places along the coast, with seal-spotting boat trips available from Blakeney (half an hour's drive). The kids should enjoy days out to places like Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and the award-winning adventure park BeWILDerwood (both half an hour). Meanwhile, grown-up activity in the area includes exploring Norfolk’s many history and heritage sites: roam around the rhododendrons at Sheringham Park (15 minutes), check out the royal retreat of Sandringham (an hour) or get lost wandering around the Holkham estate (an hour) with beaches, nature reserve, woodland play area and outdoor theatre.
