  • Small family-run campsite on a peaceful Cambridgeshire farm
  • Ely 10 minutes' drive; 40 minutes from Cambridge city centre
  • A short walk from the river Great Ouse and traffic-free footpaths
Farmer's View is a small family-run campsite on a peaceful Cambridgeshire farm. Conveniently located just 10 minutes' drive from the small city of Ely and its magnificent cathedral, this simple spot is in a rural location a short walk from the banks of the river Great Ouse. In fact, there's quite a lot of water around in this pretty part of East Anglia, as the site is also within striking distance of the river Lark, lots of old irrigation ditches and Roswell Pits Nature Reserve, a local wildlife haven on the outskirts of Ely. You're also a couple of miles from the Prickwillow Engine Museum, a volunteer-run local heritage centre where you can inspect historic fen pumping equipment up close. The facilities at Farmer's View are well-maintained and include toilets and shower blocks. Barbecues and campfires are permitted and four-legged companions are welcome to come along and join you. Farmer's View's pitches are all very flat and level – even by East Anglian standards. For supermarkets, shops, a public swimming pool, a railway station and restaurants, head into Ely. For days out, you're also within easy reach of Thetford Forest Park (30 minutes), Cambridge (40 minutes) and Bury St Edmunds (40 minutes).

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The site was in a good location for days out in Cambridge and the surrounding area. It was quiet with good facilities - toilets, showers, offer of a fire pit. We had a lovely welcome and told we could make ourselves as home.

Disliked It was tricky to find the first time but easy there after.

Excellent pop up site, level pitches and spotless facilities.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Excellent value for money.
This is a pop up campsite.
Huge flat field, pitch where you want.
Basic but spotlessly clean facilities, everything you need. Toilets and showers are uni sex but this is made very clear in their information.
Super efficient book in. Young girl and her friends were super friendly, polite and very professional. Advised us where everything was, brought us a fire pit at no extra charge.
Really relaxed and super friendly site. Would definitely recommend and return when they’re open again.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Excellent site surrounded by beautiful countryside. Lots of space to set up. Facilities are good and extremely well kept. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and Star (the cat) is so friendly and adorable. For the techies/those with the need, we had consistent 5G coverage. Would definitely recommend.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Had to book somewhere last minute due to cancellation and really pleased we chose here!
Lovely welcoming family, location was peaceful and quiet.
Toilets and showers kept clean.
Would recommend and stay again if passing.

Disliked Not really a dislike as didn’t cause a problem but they have 2 electric showers but you can only use one at a time due to pressure and temperature.
Price of £5 for the dog per night seems expensive.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Very free and easy - lots and lots of space, very clean toilets and showers, easy-going owner and site-manager...Becca and Eliza could hardly have been more welcoming or friendly!

Often windy on the site, and at the time of visiting (August 2024), the ground was very hard...hammer required!

Disliked Our (ageing) satnav took us towards the place, but forgot to take account of waterways, so we ended up being able to see the site but not get to it! This is not a criticism of the site, but the easiest way in is travelling north along Branch Bank, turn right onto Second Drove about 200m before the wobble in the road...signed from this track

Great stay!
