  • Family-run site in the Malvern Hills, a 10-minute drive from Ledbury
  • Eastnor Castle 10 minutes’ drive; Worcester half an hour
  • On-site fishing lakes; dogs on lead welcome; nearby hiking trails
Literally on the edge of the Malvern Hills National Landscape (cross the B4208, and you’re within the boundaries of the protected area), family-run Kings Green Caravan Park is part of a working farm a 10-minute drive from Ledbury. This is a spectacular patch of Worcestershire countryside, with gentle hills, fields dotted with sheep and arable land all around. All of which is an oblique way of saying that it’s pretty quiet around these parts and that your sleep should be undisturbed by traffic noise or noisy neighbours. With the Malvern Hills well within your sights, chances are you can’t wait to lace up your boots, and with several trails starting directly from the site, you’re in for many long days of exploration. Your dog (who’s welcome at the site, as long as you keep it on a lead) should also be happy with the exercise on these hikes, which might take you to places like Golden Valley nature reserve (about an hour on foot, or five minutes by car) – or to cosy country pubs like the one in Berrow (35 minutes’ walk or a five-minute drive). Hiking not your jam? Maybe you prefer a more sedentary pursuit? The site has two fishing lakes, where (for a small daily fee) you can try catching carp, roach and other species. There's a well-maintained toilet and shower block (plus facilities for disabled guests), a washing-up area and a launderette with tumble dryer and iron. Shower tokens are required to use the shower, and there's also a cash deposit required for the toilet and shower block keys. If you need to use the laundry or the washing-up area, you will also need to pay in cash.

What customers say

A clean, quiet spot with spotless facilities and helpful staff. Fishing is a highlight. Some found it remote, with limits on dog walking and kids' fun. A few noted noise or coolness from staff, but most experienced a welcoming vibe.

Liked Tidy site and good facilities.

Disliked It would have been good to be informed when I got the toilet keys that u needed tokens to pay for the shower.
Saying its on the internet is not really an excuse when u have interacted with someone.
Quite small pitches.

Liked Nothing

Do not go to this sight. I had booked two nights and rang 2 days before my arrival date to ask the latest time I could arrive on the first night as my husband was having to work late . The lady who answered the phone ( the owner) was so rude, un helpful. I was told I had to arrive before 7. I said I would not be able to make 7 and she said it was not her problem . I then asked what time I could come the next day , I was told 10:30 even though I had paid for the night before . I was then told she had ran the site for 33 years etc…. God knows how she had with the terrible attitude she has towards people. On the night I was supposed to arrive she rang me at 6:15 to say it would be ok for me now to come . I said I lived 4 hours away . This was evidently because our friends had turned up as planned, ( which I did say was going to happen ) It’s supposed to be family and dog friendly but it definatly is not . If you have a dog you have to work it outside the property on a fast road with no paths . The pitches are very small and close together. You are not allowed to use electric household kettles with your electric hookup as it trips . I have been using campsites for 40 years and never met such a rude person who runs a site.
Was not offered any refund for the day I was told I could not make before 7:00

Disliked All of the above

From the manager: We are sorry that you feel this way but when you read the terms and conditions it does state what time you can arrive. With opening and closing hours. If this time was not convince for you which it clearly wasn’t then you should have looked for a site that accommodates your needs. Also with in the terms and conditions it does state that there is no refunds with in a time scale. As you did not meet this time scale then the terms and conditions do have to be followed. There are plenty of public footpaths a few meters away from the caravan site with a large grass strip to walk to them as you will see from previous comments that we are in the countryside and there are multiple footpaths that take you to the Malvern hills but the country code does have to be followed. We hope that you find another site that will accommodate your needs of arriving past there opening hours .

Local attractions

The magnificent rooms of 19th-century Eastnor Castle (10 minutes’ drive) are hung with enormous chandeliers and adorned with portraits, rich tapestries and decorative objects. Herds of red deer inhabit the surrounding grounds, which also host medieval re-enactments, firework displays and other events. Stretching along the banks of the Severn, Worcester (half an hour) has a splendid 11th-century cathedral with a Gothic nave and colourful stained-glass windows. You can learn all about the city’s production of porcelain in the Museum of Royal Worcester, while the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum has displays on the renowned local sauce. The cathedral in Gloucester (half an hour) is famed for its connection to Harry Potter (several film scenes were shot in the elegant cloister). The city, which is England’s most inland port, is also worth a visit for its Victorian docks, where former warehouses now shelter independent shops, lively cafes and institutions like the National Waterways Museum.
