Crabmill Holiday Park: Visitor image of the peaceful and cosy site

General

  • Cosy wooden pods with views looking towards Far Forest
  • West Midland Safari Park and Go Ape within 15 minutes' drive
  • Hot tub, barbecue and ensuite bathroom for each pod

Forest views come as standard when you stay at Crabmill Holiday Park – the pods at this Worcestershire site all have decks with fab views over to Far Forest.

This is a splendidly peaceful place to settle down for a countryside break, with a barbecue and outdoor seating provided to help you make the most of those views. That said, surely the prime spot here for scenery-admiring/stargazing has to be the private hot tub that’s set up outside each pod…

Each pod also has its own ensuite shower room and a mini kitchen (with cooker, toaster, fridge, kettle and microwave) so you’ll be pretty self-sufficient. Bed linen is provided too (but please bring your own towels), to keep things nice and easy, and you’re welcome to bring the family dog along to join in the fun.

Much time is likely to be spent hanging out in your little wooden retreat, but it’s certainly worth planning several outings – there are plenty of options for woodland walks and fishing days in the local area, plus pubs to stop off at for a meal or a drink. The site is also well placed for rides on the Severn Valley Railway and days at West Midland Safari Park, and there’s a Go Ape adventure park close by for the daredevils.

Bewdley (10 minutes’ drive) is a handy nearby town for food supplies, or you could head west to Ludlow, which is renowned for its excellent independent shops and markets.

Travelled as we had an experience day booked at An Airport not far away for my Daughers 21st booked to cabins one for my wife and I the other for my Daughter and her boyfriend. Nice quiet place with around 8 accomodations. Ours had Lazy-Spa hot tubs on the deck and a far reaching view over fields the closest with resident Sheep. Lovey peacefull stay. Lots of Pubs and Eateries not far away - 10 mins in a car or UBER. Host Kevin was regularly around to make sure everything was ok which it was we had a lovely time and visited West Midlands Sarari Park one day which is very close by.

    Disliked:

A couple of Women with a boy who complained to my Daughter and Her boyfriend about useing the hot tub because the bubbles were noisey! Not the hosts problem and we didnt complain as it was 10 pm despite there being no time restrictions in the site rules what so ever and the host confirmed he expected people to be stargazing in the night sky - it's why he installed HOT TUBS.

From the manager...

Dear David thanks for your review it was truly a pleasure & much appreciated to have you with your family stay with us , as we already spoken about I can only apologise for the 1 off guests we had onsite that night as we incourage people to ⭐️🌟🌟 star gaze in there hotubs that's 1 of the reasons we get so many return customers , please don't let it put you off for future visits. Your always welcome back.

Host welcoming upon arrival. Pod met expectations as per description with some lovely decor touches which I've not seen on other glamping sites we've visited. A perfect place for some R&R. Hot tub definitely a hit with my children but overall the site is probably more suited to couples/adults.

    Disliked:

Only a couple of niggles. We stayed in pod 3 - the small patio gate, the front (stable) door and the shower room doors didn't close/lock easily, nothing a decent carpenter can't fix. Also, it rained whilst we were there and there's no where to hang your coat unless you hang them in the shower room where you hang towels.

View, peace and tranquillity, the sheep grazing close by, the pod itself and the hot tub. Decent bed, loved star gazing at night and the location close to attractions.

    Disliked:

Would have liked a few more utensils, a mirror in the bathroom. The plastic plants limited the space slightly.

Local attractions

Enjoyed the forest views from your pod? Take a closer look by exploring the trails of Wyre Forest (five minutes’ drive) – England’s largest woodland nature reserve can be explored on foot or by bike (with bike hire at the visitor centre) and there’s a Go Ape for those who’d like to climb up into the trees.

Back down at ground level, there are four lakes to fish at Furnace Mill Fishery (five minutes), exotic beasts to meet at West Midland Safari Park (15 minutes) and heritage trains to ride at the Severn Valley Railway (10 minutes).

Other days out nearby might take you for a stroll around the 17th-century house and woodlands at Dudmaston Hall or the gorgeous gardens of Arley Arboretum & Gardens (both 25 minutes). A day exploring the castle and food shops of Ludlow (35 minutes) is a good bet too, as is a trip to Worcester (40 minutes) for the cathedral, Tudor House Museum and a riverside walk – time it right and you might catch a cricket match too.
