  • Back-to-nature site on a farm 20 minutes’ drive from Wolverhampton
  • Dudley Zoo and Castle 25 minutes’ drive; Cadbury World 55 minutes
  • Resident animals; discounted rate to farm-based Educational Adventure
If the trials of urban life have stirred a desire in you (or the kids) to have more close encounters with farm animals, Tiddly Tales, in the countryside west of Wolverhampton (20 minutes’ drive to the city centre) might just be the place for your family. This pop-up site on a family-run farm has non-electric grass tent pitches and basic facilities (portable toilets). However, the lack of frills is balanced by the peaceful rural surroundings and the vast amounts of space for kids to let loose. Then, of course, there’s the potential for getting up close and personal with the resident beasties, including pigs, sheep and inquisitive goats: guests benefit from a discounted rate at the Tiddly Tales Educational Adventure, where they can have hands-on animal experiences and learn about the farm animals in a fun and interactive setting. The local area has plenty to keep families busy: from assorted child-friendly activities at Baggeridge Country Park (10 minutes), including cycling and fishing, plus a miniature railway and a ropes course, to easy strolls along disused railway lines like the South Staffordshire Railway Walk (10 minutes), woodland settings like Smestow Valley Nature Park (10 minutes) or gentle waterways like the Dudley Canal (20 minutes).

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We loved it here, very local to us so came to test out a new tent. Harry and his family are so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and always on hand if we needed anything. The field was so peaceful, no road noise at all and lovely walks straight from the farm. We enjoyed talking to the horses, pigs and cows. We will definitely return :-)

Disliked Leaving so soon

From the manager: It was fantastic to have such great people as our first customers. Thank you for the stunning review and looking forward to seeing you again.

Regards
Harri.
