  • Friendly and family-run Warwickshire adults-only park
  • Spacious and well-maintained pitches
  • Heated shower and loo block with private cubicles and free hot water
Some peeps are happy to have kids around on their long-awaited holiday. Some, however, are not. If that's you and you're off Warwickshire-wards, wend your way towards adults-only and relaxed Somers Wood Caravan Park. Family-run and very friendly, this is a peaceful place – that'll be because it's adults only, most likely – and has excellently kept amenities including a heated shower and loo block with private cubicles, lots of free hot water (no push buttons here), hairdryers in both the ladies' and the gents' and a shaving socket in the gents'. There's also a separate disabled facility away from the main block: ask for the key on check-in if required. And also very relaxedly? The local Chinese and Indian restaurants will deliver your dins right to the park: find menus in the Somers Wood information cabin.

Local attractions

A golf centre is adjacent to Somers Wood Caravan Park for those who might fancy a go at their 27-hole championship course and driving range or a bite/drink in the clubhouse or restaurant, all available to non-members. Breakfast is available too. Coarse fishing is within easy walking distance of the park at the seven pools covering 20 acres of water of Packington Coarse Fishery, and a trout fishery is a short drive away. If engines get you going, motor along to the National Motorcycle Museum less than two miles from base, and to the National Exhibition Centre three miles away, with many a show going on throughout the year including the caravan and motorhome shows in February and October. Elsewhere, Somers Wood is in good locale for Central England walks, bike rides and famed Warwickshire attractions like Warwick Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon, home of course to the legendary bard as well as the Royal Shakespeare and Swan theatres. You could also send yourself to Coventry (Coventry Cathedral and Coventry Transport Museum recommended), go shopping at Birmingham's Bull Ring or visit the National Sea Life Centre, Symphony Hall, Cadbury's World or the National Indoor Arena.
