Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked What a beautiful location! Off the beaten track, it felt very safe and secure. Pipe Hall Farm is easily accessible from the campsite for a wonderful woodland walk, and the Three Tuns is only a 4 minute drive away if you fancy a drink and a bite. Our wonderful host, Richard, couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful. I’m very much looking forward to my next visit!

Primitive grass and earth RV campsite

Liked Lovely quiet location. Great site not over crowded at all. Fab walks straight from field into the woods. Faculties were as described, except no WiFi but that was OK for us. And dog friendly too.
Richard and joy were fantastic, we will be coming back

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked We were greeted by Richard, who knew that we’d like a quiet pitch. We could pick a pitch wherever we wanted and the site is peaceful and quiet. Richard was extremely friendly.
We cooked our own food, although there are pubs within walking distance.
We would love to come back.
Thanks Richard!

Local attractions

Pencil in an afternoon at least for Lichfield, to roam around the towering triple-spire cathedral dating back to the 12th century, survey the displays at writer Samuel Johnson’s museum and birthplace, or have a gander at Erasmus Darwin’s Grade I-listed Georgian house and close. If more historical expeditions are on the agenda, the ruins of the Wall Roman Site are under 10 minutes’ drive away. Sights of a more recent nature include the National Trust’s Shugborough Estate (half an hour) – a grand Georgian manor with a bright white exterior – and The National Memorial Arboretum, the UK’s year-round national site of remembrance (20 minutes away). Just outside Lichfield (10 minutes’ drive) is Stowe Pool reservoir for picnics beside the banks. Another place prime for post-hike alfresco meals with a view in the area is the Castle Ring Iron Age hill fort high up on a hilltop (also 10 minutes away). Up for a bit of thrillseeking instead? The rides of Drayton Manor Theme Park are a 20-minute drive away, while the Curborough Sprint Course – where you can speed sprint in a timed car race – is accessible within 15 minutes.
