Set on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park, Brooklyn Grange Farm is a back-to-basics site on a family-run dairy farm surrounded by gorgeous Staffordshire countryside. The scenery here is varied indeed, with views over quiet fishing pools, grassy meadows and the spectacular rocky ridge known as The Roaches. You'll also be well placed to sample local produce at this small-scale site – you can head to the farm shop, which sells eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese, barbecue meats and other goodies, or grab a local ice cream, milkshake or fresh milk from the on-site Milk Barn. You're welcome to light up a barbecue, as long as it's kept off the grass. If you don't have your own, there are firepits for hire (a cash deposit is required) from the farm shop and kindling and logs for sale. There's also a village pub and carvery around 10 minutes' walk away on the edge of Thorncliffe (with another around 10 minutes' walk away in Blackshaw Moor). For more flavours, try Leek (five minutes' drive), a local market town with a good range of restaurants, cafés and food shops. After a trip to town it's back to the countryside. On site, fishing can be booked for an additional fee at the specimen and carp venue (a pre-booking is essential). Just note that you must have an Environment Agency licence and no fishing is available during the spawning season, which is generally in late May and/or early June. You could also take yourself off for a hike in the national park (a mile away), where there are many miles of well-mapped trails to explore. As for facilities, Brooklyn Grange Farm has functional and well-maintained toilets for guests. There is one shower available here (bookable for an extra charge at the farm shop), or you can take the option of travelling five minutes down the road to Brough Park Leisure Centre.

Liked Beautiful scenery and sunsets. Good location on the edge of the Peak district. Feels like the middle of nowhere but close to shops and attractions.
Site shop is well stocked with camping essentials, food, snacks, fire pits and fire wood.
We stayed on the back field this time and it was very quiet at night time. Our kids loved meeting the goats and donkeys and watching the calves in the field next to us.

Disliked Toilets were clean and well stocked, but could do with modernising and a few more of them.

Liked Amazing experience being in the centre of an active dairy farm. Loads of animals onsite and very close. Basic but clean loos. Easy to find, kind and helpful staff.

Liked What pleasure to stay in ... happiness 😊 and my dog was welcome 🐶
We were welcomed ,allowed to book in at 9.30
And the toilets were stunning, single toilet in a big space with soft toilet paper and a wash basin with soap and a mirror !!
The site itself is spotless ! It also has a a very safe environment and only 3.5 miles from Leek
Don't forget to bring your fishing rods ,there are 3 beautiful dams

Disliked I can't fault the campsite

Liked The best campsite I have ever had the pleasure of staying on.
Staff are wonderful, its family run and has been for 30 years as a working dairy farm.
It has everything you could ask for, feels like wild camping but with all the little luxuries we miss when wild camping.
You can feel the love poured into this place over the owner's lifetime.
Sitting in the field, looking over the roaches, the lake infront, watching the happy donkeys playing with each other, and the happy cows toddling in for milking, udders swinging. There are friendly goats, friendly dogs, free range chickens. Its honestly just perfection.
You're only 7 minutes from the town of Leek, which has everything, but also in the wild with two lovely pubs within walking distance.
Then theres the little farm shop on site! Ice cream from their own cows, the best tasting milk from the happiest cows, and lots of local produce.
You can even hire a fire pit, wood and kindling is on site at very reasonable prices.
Toilets are clean, shower is clean.
Lovely coffee in the morning from the farm shop.
Kids play area, a second field if you want it which was even quieter.
Please support your local farmers and amazing little independent places like this. They deserve to keep going when it feels like our government don't care about them.

Make your way to the wild rides of Alton Towers (20 minutes' drive), the UK's biggest theme park. If your idea of fun doesn't include days full of white-knuckle rollercoaster rides, another family-friendly option is Peak Wildlife Park (10 minutes). For those rainy days, it's not far to reach Blaze Farm and The Potty Sheep (20 minutes), an ice cream farm which also organises paint-a-pot activities. For further agreeable outings, head to the Churnet Valley Railway (15 minutes) or the Manifold Valley (10 minutes) and Thor's Cave (20 minutes). You could go hiking and climbing at The Roaches (10 minutes), visiting Lud's Church (10 minutes) as an add-on. And where else to set your sights on? Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 2 day(s) of arrival.
Modifications are subject to a £5.00 ($6.74) fee.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
There is no reception at this park. Please check-in at the farm shop instead.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
