  • Quiet dog-friendly site on the edge of Weston Park
  • A 25-minute drive from Ironbridge; miniature railway at Weston Park
  • Two pubs half an hour’s walk away; rare breed animals on site
With rare breed animals, sheep, ducks and chickens roaming around part of Homecharm and rural surroundings on all sides, you’ve stumbled upon a quiet place indeed. One of the highlights of this simple, dog-friendly site has got to be its position 10 minutes’ drive away from the grand Weston Park, a huge country estate with famed gardens. The estate hosts events throughout the year and it has nearly five acres of walled gardens with fruit and veg, an adventure playground and a miniature railway. Facilities on site are fairly simple; there are toilets, showers and car parking is permitted by the pitch. All of the pitches are completely private with no views over the other pitches, so if that’s what you prefer, you’re in for a treat. Foodies, don’t fret either. There are two pubs within half an hour’s walk of Homecharm, including a 19th-century pub with a beer garden, a kids’ play area and traditional British cuisine (or pints for those who are thirsty after local walks, of course). Otherwise, pick up some supplies from the towns within 10 minutes’ drive of the site (from Shifnal, for instance). Make sure your barbecue ingredients are covered; as barbecues are permitted on site, there’s the chance to see off the day with grilled sausages and the works. The rural setting means sunsets over the fields for dessert…

Local attractions

Like yourself a historical itinerary? Simples – pull up a map and start bookmarking a few museums. Jackfield Tile Museum (25 minutes’ drive) is all about the tile industry between 1840 and 1960. Blists Hill Victorian Town (20 minutes) takes things a step further by recreating a whole Victorian town, sweet shops, cottages and authentic Victorian food and all. The Black Country Living Museum (40 minutes) does the same, but with 26 acres of industrial Britain’s shops, pubs and houses. Add in some more historic spots, like White Ladies Priory (five minutes) ruins, the Grade II-listed Boscobel House and The Royal Oak (five minutes) and all the museums across the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge (25 minutes). Got good times in the outdoors in mind? You might want to clamber up The Wrekin (20 minutes) hill, just like the novelist Charles Dickens. The Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (25 minutes) has gorgeous green woods for hikes, mountain biking and potentially zipwiring on the Go Ape obstacle course.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Amazing experience from start to finish. Could not ask for a more friendly layed back simple almost wild camping with Paul the manager who couldn't do enough for us. With a beautiful surroundings and great walks, friendly free roaming animals including Alpacas sheep ducks chickens and dogs topped off with a cosy open camp fire in the evening. All facilities catered for. Will definitely be returning in the future. Sorry we didn't get to say goodbye to Paul, top bloke.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Everything. We will 100% be returning, we loved this site it was so beautiful with gorgeous trees and scenery, well maintained pitches. The owner was so friendly and helpful and made us feel so very welcome. The site is small which I liked as it was more peaceful and intimate. The bathroom facilities were lovely and also very clean. The alpacas, sheep, hens, and dogs were so cool they were absolute characters. I was so sad when we had to leave, can't wait to return.

Disliked: Nothing

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Close to wild camping, complete with "friendly" wild animals. Host couldn't have been nicer or friendlier, if your looking for luxury/glamping then look else where. If u want quiet countryside camping with the essentials then look no further, would also help if u like animals and dogs. Will be visiting again
