  • Well-maintained site between Oswestry and Shrewsbury, off the A5
  • Within 20 minutes' drive of Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wroxeter
  • Pool table, dog walk, showers, toilets and launderette
You’ll be tickled pink with a stay at Cranberry Moss Caravan Park, a sweet site in rural Shropshire. First up, it's surrounded by the peaceful county betwixt England and Wales that’s long been a bolthole for those seeking quiet rural times: even the invading Romans escaped here in between all that empire building… Next up, this is a well placed site for getting out and about among Shropshire’s activities and attractions – of which there are many, for the county’s gentle pace doesn’t mean a lack of stuff to do. Far from it: from Cranberry Moss you can roll along to world-famed attractions like Ironbridge Gorge, the Saxon – and Tudor – country town of Shrewsbury, and hikes or gentle strolls aplenty among the Long Mynd, Stretton Hills and the Wrekin, all part of the Shropshire Hills of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All this is most easily accessed, as the site is just off the A5 in a handy spot between Oswestry (15 minutes’ drive) and Shrewsbury (20 minutes). For times when you’re not out roaming, there’s a pool table and a dog walk area where canines can stretch their paws. Everyday needs are easily sorted here too, as the amenities include showers, toilets, a washing-up area and a launderette – these last two with spectacular Shropshire views to make your tasks less tiresome.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Our first time to Cranberry Moss and Oswestry. The whole site is very clean and very well maintained. You can tell from the moment you arrive that the owners/ wardens take great care of this campsite. The grounds are very well looked after and the flowers dotted around the site are gorgeous. We stayed for 2 nights in Mid-July during Britain’s 3rd heatwave for 2025. Everyone that we spoke to on the site, including the staff, were pleasant and friendly. We loved it so much so; that after just the first night we phoned our other family members and booked again for later on in the summer.

Disliked There wasn’t anything we disliked. If we had to mention a suggestion; we would say that a small play area or obstacle course for children may be a nice addition and possibly a small shop for milk and bread etc.

Liked Ashley greeted us at the gate and sorted 2 pitches for us, and our friends, so we were near my sister and her husband who had arrived earlier.
The pitch was beautifully level and we had no need to use levelling ramps.
The site was clean and tidy with lots of well maintained trees and shrubs.
Toilets/shower block was clean with music being streamed and the toilets having added touches such as scented cleaning blocks in the toilet bowls.
There is a bar with pool table and plenty of room for sitting outside on warm sunny evenings.
Thank you Ashley, for sorting us out at such short notice, and for letting us cuddle your gorgeous two Dachshunds, Betty & Peggy.

Liked Great Location. Very tidy site with excellent wash failicities. We have stayed four or five time under various owners. Costantly improving and getting busier too.

Not really a like or dislike, just my opinion, but I would say this site is targetted more at adults and families with older children. There isn't much for younger children to do i.e. no play area or activity fields.

Disliked Had a permanent padlock on the gate to prevent unauthorised access. However was told this is a temporary measure until electronic gates are installed.

Liked Staff member Ashley, very helpful with explaining the site layout.

The pitch we were free to choose, and the tideness of the shower / toilet block.

The tiered pitches gave a natural seperation of the pitch we chose

Disliked One large tent appeared to accommodate a group of construction workers, who continued to talk loudly into the small hours, possibly outside, due to the very warm night's whilst we stayed.

Local attractions

Shropshire’s absolutely stacked with things to do – outdoorsy activities, museums, castles, arty attractions, theatres, shops… If you’re blinded by choice or need a bit of inspiration, who better to ask than the folk on site, local experts who’ll happily dole out a bit of advice. Among the top picks they might point you towards are the splendid estates of Attingham Park (20 minutes’ drive), a National Trust property where you can paddle canoes or frolic in the Field of Play, and Weston Park (40 minutes), to stroll through gardens designed by the famed Capability Brown. Those Roman visitors left a bit of stuff behind when they moved on, and you can see their style on a trip to Wroxeter Roman City (20 minutes). This area was central to more recent history too – notably at Ironbridge (35 minutes), birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fab museums and family-friendly attractions. If you’re in the company of kids (or indeed grownups) fascinated by all things that move, pack them into the car for the 40-minute drive to see the planes at the Royal Air Force Museum or to take a steam-driven ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth.
