Great campsite, in a stunning location.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Absolutely stunning campsite. Lovely solar showers, clean compost loos. Plenty of space between pitches. Super comms from the owner and checked all was ok whilst we were there. Can’t wait to come back here. Well stocked honesty tent. Great little communal area under cover.
Disliked: Some fellow campers were driving very quick through site.

From the manager: Oh sorry about that, I ask people to drive slowly down the lane but assumed they'd drive slowly on the field because it's bumpy, I'll ask people to drive slowly on site too so hopefully won't be a problem next time. Thanks for the great review! Abbie :-)
Lovely little stay on our travels to The North 😊
Bell tent
Liked: Loved the glamping setup, the little kitchen and independent bathroom. Location is super private, although very close to A1. Honesty shop with all essential items is great.
Disliked: Nothing

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Cool campsite with a laid back vibe. The owners messages you all the details, it is mainly a self sufficient campsite.
The bucket shower was amazing, which you can heat up and the composting toilets work great. Lots of thought had being put into this campsite for what it is. Especially like the mini tap next to the compost toilet.
There is some picnic benches and a waterproof tarp you can sit inside when raining.
There is water provided in a tuck shop tent, as well as plenty of firewood, and other supplies. You can pay by bank transfer or cash.
The pitches are also split up across the site with your own mowed out piece of lawn with the field.
Nice area was visiting family near here so has being an idea place to stay.

Bell tent
Liked: Lovely campsite, you really feel away from it all, it is set up so you have loads of privacy. Everything was there that was needed. Very relaxing. Double bed very comfortable. Loved the little honesty shop. The host was lovely. Hoping to return for a mini break again soon. Thank you :)

Visites over the late May bank holiday weekend.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: The privacy, the feel of it. The lay out of the site seemed really spacious and peaceful. The mixture of patches of nature, some more established than others, and looked like a few potential ponds being established which would be cool. Can't wait to come again some time and see how it progresses. Especially as the trees grow and create some additional shelter from some of the wind, ha.
Reasonable spread of the facilities around the site, and perhaps best was the communication from Abbie. pre-arrival email and contact, on the day, a call, detailed and clear text.
Also really close to local amenities and places to visit.

Great spot for a weekend away.
Chicken of the Woods primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Everything. Hist (Abbie) was friendly & helpful. Pitch was great, toilets were good and spotless (was expecting a Glastonbury stench when I seen composting in the description but not at all). Logs can be bought on site (& a little shop in a tent). Would def return and will recommend to others.
Disliked: Nothing negative to say about this lovely place.

Chicken of the Woods primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: We loved the mushroom farm!! Everything we needed and nothing more. Beautiful setting...we saw pheasants and rabbits near the site when we went for a wander in the morning. Plenty of water provided, logs and other supplies can be purchased from the camp shop. I believe you can even walk across the fields to a pub but we didn't have time...we'll have to do that next time!!

Lovely site
Penny Bun primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: What a fantastic site. We camped for one night but wanted to stay longer! Its a very peacefull site and is surrounded by nature. The pitches aren't close to neighbouring campers which gives you space to chill. The toilets were very clean and the shower was fun. There were containers of water for washing up at the pitch alongside a fire pit. We had a nosey at the Safari and Bell tents and would love to give those a try. Abbie who runs the site was very friendly and quick to reply to any texts. We would definitely recommend this site.
