  • Small rural pop-up site 10 minutes’ drive from Witney in the Cotswolds
  • The Farmer’s Dog and Blenheim Palace both 15 minutes’ drive
  • Grass pitches on a wildlife haven with far-reaching rural views
If you’re looking for a back-to-nature stay in the glorious Cotswolds countryside, that’s exactly what you’ll get at Hum Hideaway, a pop-up site 10 minutes’ drive from the shops and pubs of Witney in Oxfordshire. This peaceful spot has grass pitches on a quiet corner of a farm, and offers up amazing countryside views in a peaceful rural environment – if you’re lucky, you might just get to spot some deer wandering by. Hum Hideaway is only 15 minutes’ drive from Jeremy Clarkson’s famed Farmer’s Dog pub; his farm shop (half an hour) is also well worth a visit. Other popular local attractions include Blenheim Palace (15 minutes’ drive) and Adam Henson’s Cotswold Wildlife Park (25 minutes); both have an action-packed roster of events and activities for families. Oxford city centre (40 minutes) can be accessed via bus or car for a day out among its gleaming spires, historic colleges and splendid museums. If you’d rather stay local, Hum Hideaway is also close to Tar Farm Lakes (five minutes’ drive), a popular fishing spot and just the place for a quiet country walk. You can also explore the photogenic ruins of Minster Lovell Hall and Dovecote (15 minutes); pack a picnic (buy goodies in Witney) to eat on the banks of the River Windrush nearby. Upgraded in 2026, the on-site facilities include outdoor washing-up sinks and separate shower and toilet cubicles for men and women. Dogs are welcome on site, and there are lots of quiet country walks straight from the pitches for the stretching of paws and legs.

What customers say

This quiet campsite gets kudos for clean facilities, meadow views, and helpful owners. Easy to find and great for exploring. Some guests found the toilets/showers basic, one noting no mirrors at first. Most enjoyed the peace, though one August guest heard traffic noise.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked My daughter and I have just spent several days at Hum Hideaway and we honestly didn't want to leave. From the moment we arrived, Hannah and John made us feel incredibly welcome. They are friendly, approachable and clearly passionate about creating a peaceful place for people to relax and enjoy the countryside.

The campsite is exceptionally well maintained with spacious pitches, spotless facilities, constant access to hot water, clean washing-up sinks and plenty of bins for both rubbish and recycling. Everything has been thoughtfully planned and cared for.

As someone living with a spinal condition and limited mobility, this site has been ideal. Although there isn't a pub within walking distance, travelling by car meant we could easily explore Witney, which is only around 10 minutes away, along with many beautiful Cotswold villages and attractions. It has been the perfect base for sightseeing.

The wildlife has been another highlight. We enjoyed watching rabbits, deer and many different species of birds, while the sunsets across the fields have been absolutely breathtaking. The peace and tranquillity here are exactly what we needed.

Hum Hideaway strikes the perfect balance between modern facilities and a beautiful countryside setting. My daughter and I have made wonderful memories here and we'll definitely be returning. Thank you, Hannah and John, for creating such a special place.

Disliked Nothing at all. The peaceful location is one of the campsite's greatest strengths. There isn't a pub within walking distance, but this wasn't an issue for us as we were travelling by car. Everything we wanted to explore was only a short drive away, including Witney and many stunning Cotswold villages. We genuinely couldn't fault our stay.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Great little pop up campsite. Easy to find, perfect for a short stay. No marked out pitches or silly rules, just how a campsite should be. Facilities good, could do with a small amount of repairs and some hooks replacing in one of the showers. Other than that it was perfect.
