Will return, price is good if the loos and showers
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Flat pitches, pub close, friendly site owner
Disliked More showers is a must theres only 2 which the site wasn't that busy but was still line for them at points in the day. also loos could have been cleaner and have locks on doors, there was also nothing to dry your hands with no dryer or paper towels. The porter loos are a great touch around the site although they were a bit smelly and dirty (I dont know how othen they are clean properly. (People could respect them a bit more ! )
Quute a few Dogs off the lead running about while owners just sat and relaxed...not great !
a few families staying, kids were filling up water guns leaving the taps on then running about getting other campers wet while they are trying to relax parents were running around also with them ! And playing ball close to pitches and balls hitting vans !!
(I've got children and it's just polite not to let your kids run about around others )
Maybe family pitches could be sited far end of site ?
Most of this had Nothing to do with the campsite or owner just selfish people.

Lovely location. Level pitches. Facilities clean and sufficient.

Liked I was In a campervan but didn’t want EHU as only there for one night. So camped in the large well maintained, tree lined camping field. Was very peaceful. The pub down the road served delicious food and was only a 5 minute walk.

Good location. Level field. Basic, unglamorous, but enjoyable.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Quiet and basic site with level large grass field site.
Access to footpaths to visit local villages. Close to a pub with decent brown beer and (posh£) food.
Village cricket pitch and young children's play area just outside the entrance.
On a bus route into Didcot and its main line train station.
Disliked Main train line runs close to site and can be loud (soon get used to it)
The way into the site field is a bit off-putting, as it's lined with lots of campervans and caravans being long-term stored.

Stay here for a relaxed break, listen to birds and watch the kites
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Our second weekend in a row to stay here, love the large, flat and peaceful field. Liked the c3 mile walk through the fields into Wallingford. Did try and walk to the South Moreton pub on the way back but failed to find the right route! We are told it can be done though, or there's the Bear just a few minutes walk from the site. Relaxed arrival/departure time. We came via Didcot this time, which was a much better route for motorhomes.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Pitches were spacious and the site wasn't too busy when we visited.
The owner were very hospitable, while we were packing he saw how laden we were with small children and offered to help. We were able to manage at that time, but the offer is always greatly appreciated.
Beautiful area, lots of Red kites and rabbits to see, I forgot to bring my wildlife lens so I couldn't get proper photos unfortunately, but that is a compelling reason to return in and of itself.
Disliked Facilities a little basic but perfectly adequate, I can imagine that being a source of frustration at busier times of the year, but wasn't a major worry while we were there.

Lovely large, peaceful field, flat pitches, enjoy the countryside.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Very large, flat field (no EHU), pitch where you like, relaxed arrival/departure times. Easy walk to a couple of pubs, longer c.3 mile walk through the fields to Wallingford, which was really nice, Jon helpfully provided us the info on this. Water/chemical waste/toilets (we didn't use the shower block), so everything you need. Just watch out for the cheeky kites hovering overhead eyeing up your breakfast!
Disliked Just for awareness, the route we took in has some very narrow roads/sharp turns, but fine for motorhomes, if you're slow and careful.

From the manager: Hello Andrea,
Thanks very much for your review, it sounds as if you came in on the Fulscot road which is a bit windy, it's easier to take the second turning on right 1 mile past Tesco, much better!
Happy camping,
Jon
