  • Dog-friendly Oxfordshire farm site in the village of North Moreton
  • Didcot Railway Centre 10 minutes' drive; 25 minutes to Oxford
  • Large field with level pitches; pub and bus stop five minutes' walk
Quiet rural farm site, or somewhere that you can easily walk to the village pub? Roll both things into one location at St. Peter’s Farm Campsite, surrounded by fabulous Oxfordshire countryside and yet a mere five minutes’ walk from the local pub in the village of North Moreton. That location brings lots of benefits – you’ll get the peaceful experience that comes from staying on a spacious and level field that’s part of a farm with horses and wildlife areas, but you’ll also be able to stroll up to the village for a meal, a drink or some time at the playground with the kids. There are plenty of good routes around for longer walks too, and the site is dog-friendly so your furry pal can join you. Looking to explore further afield? A bus service from the village runs to Didcot, or you can drive there in about 10 minutes. Wallingford is similarly about 10 minutes away, and both towns are handy sources of shops and places to eat. Oxford (25 minutes’ drive) is also easy to visit from here, and there are plenty of attractions around from the Didcot Railway Centre and Aston Martin Heritage Trust to the Iron Age hillfort at Wittenham Clumps. Pitches at this site are fairly simple but have access to ladies’ and gents’ toilets and showers, a chemical disposal point and a washing-up area, and you’ll be allowed to light campfires or barbecues. There’s a separate field that can be used by rallies and groups such as Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Good location. Quiet (there is some train noise but it did not bother us at all). Easy

Disliked Pot holes on the way in! Really tricky and need sorting asap.

The showers, washing up etc are quite far away.

Portaloos and fresh water in the field so easy to access.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Lots of space. Flat and soft ground. easy for tent pegs. Nice local walks not far from the campsite. Dog friendly and allowed camp fires. Quite in the evenings. Mention of railway close by in previous reviews. Yes there is but at night we didn't hear it and it didn't break our sleep.

Disliked Toilets in the field need to be cleaned more regular. The reception isn't manned which is fine but called the number and no one answered so drove on a camped anyways. Could use a small shop with wood and small essentials.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Nice, relatively flat, not busy site.

Showers are a good size, no worrying about whether your towel and clean clothes will get wet while you’re showering.

Pub within easy walking distance.

Disliked Relatively close, relatively frequent train line.
