What customers say
Family-friendly site, spacious spots, clean facilities. Staff friendly, lots for kids (animals, play area). Relaxed vibe, good location. Some found facilities dated, train noise a factor for light sleepers. Great value, recommended for families.

10-amp powered grass campsite
Liked Space initially was good Location good Showers spacious there is a small shop bar and cook up place animals nice touch met a lovely young couple pizza is good nice walk to local pub pitch size good owners friendly enough and let you get on with it
Disliked We left early other campers just spoiled our chill time messy rowdy and some just horrible to their children we just didn’t want to be around that vibe came to chill not listen to drunks and parents yelling or not minding their children Maybe bank holiday was a bad idea for us level of people meant things a tad dirty but I think it was just that lots people

10-amp powered grass campsite
Liked Loved how big the site was and the location the site was. There was a shop and bar on site too. They also had an ice cream van that went round the site too
Disliked The toilet facilities were in a shed that appeared to not be maintained. The shower ‘block’ contained only 4 showers females and then 4 for male which were constantly queued and always smelt of urine. The overall hygiene of the washing facilities were poor

Liked Great site, perfect for families! Bouncy castles amazing! We had such a great time cannot fault anything. Fantastic for kids! Great atmosphere!
Was concerned by some reviews? - don’t read them, not sure they’ve ever been to a camp site?! Toilets & showers were as clean as any camp site, it’s not en-suite! & never dirty even over the August bank holiday. If you don’t want train noise ask to be at the opposite side?

Probably wouldn’t visit again, but it was ok for a weekend
Primitive grass campsite
Liked There were some nice things about this campsite… it was a short walk to the canal, and then into the village. We visited both pubs which had a good atmosphere. The campsite is in a good location, we visited both Oxford and Diddly Squat. The campsite is big, with non electric you can pick anywhere mid field and the electric pitches were round the edge. We didn’t have anyone next to us, and it was pretty packed. The site has a little bar and shop, and they do food too, it has a certain charm about it which I quite liked! We had pizza’s, they were good! The park is great too, they had bouncy castles when we visited, as well as the birds and goats.
Disliked The toilets were just about passable, not sure they were cleaned while we were there to be honest and the urinals which sort of sat in the middle were smelly. The pot wash sinks didn’t have a plug, and a shared hot water tap. It is right next to a train line, and boy are those trains loud, but we did find that we tuned them out after a while. We could also hear the hum of the motorway through the night, we live rurally so we aren’t used to it!

Very relaxed and friendly campsite. Ideal for families with children.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Very relaxed and friendly campsite. We loved the rustic feel of it and the design of the shop/bar etc. Loved having the bar and seating area for a central hub. The bouncy castle and animals were wonderful for the children. We chose a quiet spot at the end of the field so we had a bit more privacy.
Disliked There were a lot of unsupervised children on the bouncy castles not always being kind (not the campsites fault). It was a bank holiday so the site was very busy and it felt like a lot of parents were there to drink and let their children run wild. We’d love to return on a quieter weekend to enjoy the facilities as it is a little gem of a campsite.

Awesome site - will definitely be back!
Primitive grass campsite
Liked A nice friendly campsite with lots to keep the children entertained. The bouncy castles were a bonus, the goats and the kids were very cute (and gentle - the children loved feeding them) and the bird enclosure great.
The facilities were fine (I mean it is a campsite not a 4 star hotel), the staff friendly, the home fired pizzas tasty. We were there weekdays and it was nice that the kitchen and bar were open. The shop is well stocked and everything (bar, kitchen, and shop) reasonably priced.
Close to walk to the village along the canal path with 2 pubs, lovely cafe (and honesty treat box) and a good play park.
We pitched slightly away from the train line (adjacent to far hedge) and like some others say quite easy to get used to, by the second night I didn’t even hear them. Neither did our children!
Overall loved it, excellent value for money and will definitely be back!
Disliked The bins were overflowing. But they’re out of the way so don’t interfere with your camping.
