  • Well-maintained grass pitches at a Nottinghamshire organic farm
  • Crich Tramway Village and Nottingham within a half-hour drive
  • Easy access from the A610 and M1; farm shop and café on site
If great food is a key part of your getaway, Trinity Farm Organic Camping – just outside the Nottinghamshire village of Awsworth, around 20 minutes' drive from Nottingham – is a very fine choice. For over 30 years, this site has been home to an organic and biodynamic farm with market gardens, orchards and greenhouses set among peaceful woodlands and meadows. Much of the produce grown here finds its way straight into the on-site farm shop and café, both brimming with delicious, freshly made food. The fully licensed café is open daily from 8am to 4pm, serving everything from hearty cooked breakfasts (available until 3pm) to light bites and satisfying hot or cold lunches. Prefer to cook for yourself? Stock up on quality ingredients at the farm shop; barbecues are welcome on site. Despite its peaceful rural setting, the farm is easy to reach, just a couple of minutes' drive from the nearest A road and around 10 minutes from the M1. Trinity Farm Organic Camping is more than just a place to pitch up: it has a welcoming atmosphere and notable facilities, including a shower block with clean, modern and spacious amenities that make freshening up after a day outdoors a pleasure rather than a chore. On weekends, the café stays open later, transforming into a laidback social spot where guests can sip on drinks in the garden to unwind and meet fellow campers.

What customers say

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked We picked this site as a conveniently located stopover en route to our destination. The large camping field is very pleasant and you can pitch freely where you choose. The new shower and toilet facilities are genuinely some of the best we've seen on a campsite! (However, my husband did get locked in and was told it happens a lot, so perhaps don't send children on their own!). The cafe and farm shop seemed really nice.

Disliked Not really a dislike but a suggestion - there was some confusion where to go on arrival (us and other campers) - we ended up asking in the cafe and were pointed in the general direction of the field. An email or message beforehand explaining where to go and that campers are free to pitch anywhere would have been helpful.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked We had a fabulous stay at Trinity Farm. We only stayed one night, as we were in the area visiting relatives, but it felt like a real holiday. The camping fields were spacious and not crowded at all, and had good facilities. It was a real treat to be able to eat in the organic cafe in the lovely veranda with fab countryside views. The evening meal and breakfast we had there was delicious, and enjoyed the organic wines. We will definitely stay again given the opportunity.

Disliked Nothing to dislike

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Rustic campsite, in a remarkably quiet location so close to the M1. I stayed at the campsite for three nights. The bathroom facilities are a recent addition and very good. Everyone very friendly. The organic garden centre with lovely cafe is open every day, and Friday and Saturday evenings you can enjoy simple hot food and select an alcoholic drink from their wide selection of beers, lagers and wines, plus soft drinks. Nice pasties and cakes selection with coffee. Definitely will return.

Disliked Rough gravel track to access the camp fields.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked An open pitch that gave us plenty of choice on where to set up. It was so peaceful, featuring a small wood right next to the field where the kids loved exploring, plus some lovely chickens on site that you could feed. The toilets and showers were super clean and just a short walk away. The onsite cafe was really nice with top quality food, and there are some decent walks at the nearby local aqueduct.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Lots of space. Relaxed pitch up rules so can pick a good spot. Little woods for kids to explore. Farm cafe is lovely. All staff we met were friendly and helpful. Firepit to hire and BBQ allowed. They even bring over patio slabs so the dry grass won't scorch in this hot weather. Chickens on site were fun for the kids. It's a working farm and farm shop so people about on site but very chilled nice place. Definitely recommend for a couple days. Toilets and shower nice and clean. Farm cat was the kids favourite thing haha

Disliked Not the camp fault but dry grass maybe need a trim as it's like sharp straw at this point haha.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Just returned from a weekend here and would highly recommend. The site is so calm and surrounded by greenery. The toilets and showers were immaculate. The cafe on site does delicious food and had garden games which the kids loved. The staff were really friendly. Really couldn't fault it at all.

It's also a short walk to Bennerley Viaduct, which has a little cafe and fantastic views.
