Liked Everything. A really well run and well maintained site at a very reasonable price. The bar was excellent and super friendly. The full english breakfast was amazing value and really good quality. The walk into Retford from the back of the site was easy and level and took us 15 minutes to the market square.

Disliked Cars driving around and daft hours, people arguing and throwing suitcases out of caravans and wishing each other was dead. Wasn’t a nice atmosphere when had children listening to everything being said.

Not quite what we expected

Liked Lovely views
Disliked We booked 3 pitches, 2 grass and one hard standing. Our friends stayed on the hard standing and I think we drew the short straw.
We had been allocated pitch 52 and 51. Due to the way people had parked 51 was a no go as we couldn’t fit the caravan in.
52 wasn’t much better.
Thankfully people near by helped us to get in.
The tent next to us had taken up most of 52 so we ended up with our caravan door literally opening up to their car.
Our friends at pitch 51 got completely blocked in by someone just leaving their motorhome directly behind their tent.
There’s no one to speak to about this during a Sunday so we made the best
that we could of it but didn’t appreciate the people right next to us at 4 in the morning deciding to making sure everyone around could hear their conversation.
The pitches we had are on top of each other and it doesn’t really fit well with cars and, motorhomes and tents trying to get enough space. It would have worked much better with motorhomes and caravans separate.

Despite my dislike of the facilities, we did have a pleasant stay
Powered grass campsite
Liked The part is stunning had several lovely walks around the lakes and plenty of fishing to be had
Disliked The facilities left much to be desired. In my opinion toilets and showers should be separate and they definitely need to be cleaned more often. This did not ruin my stay though and the staff were friendly.
Disappointed that my dog was allowed to stay with us but was not allowed in the restaurant.
