RFC Landing ground is a family-run working smallholding in Lincolnshire in the grounds of a historic World War I Royal Flying Corps emergency landing field. Set just off a peaceful fen road and surrounded by tall mature hedges, there's lots of privacy here, creating a relatively quiet and secluded location surrounded by the Lincolnshire countryside. This site, which is a convenient 10-minute drive from the medium-sized market town of Sleaford, has basic toilet facilities. Firepits, firewood and barbecues are provided at no extra cost (subject to availability). A large pond and surrounding grassy area makes an excellent location for picnics and barbecues, with a pond-dipping platform on hand for nature-themed activities. Please note that the ground can be uneven in places, so a good sleeping mat is recommended. Children and well-behaved dogs are welcome but the latter must remain on a lead at all times, especially if they’re likely to chase the chickens…
