If you’re thinking of a quiet North Lincolnshire holiday, perhaps you should be thinking Acorn Wood. Set on the outskirts of the village of Burton upon Stather, this adults-only site should be a relaxing getaway for anyone who appreciates countryside walks, a peaceful setting and maybe a spot of fishing. The well-stocked on-site fishing lake is for the use of experienced anglers – and don’t forget that a rod licence is required by law. Sitting on the banks of the lake is the communal log cabin, where you can chill while using the book and DVD swap, make new friends among fellow guests, have a drink and socialise. A small shop is open daily for you to stock up on basics, gifts and fishing bait (opening times vary depending on time of year). Burton upon Stather itself has a couple of essentials stores, pubs that do great food and lots of walking and cycling opportunities.

Liked Friendly owners, personally showed us our pitch and where the facilities were.

Ours was a lovely flat sheltered pitch, facilities were small but very clean and warm.

Liked The site was beautiful, clean and in beautiful settings. The toilets were lovely and clean. Owner was a lovey friendly lady. Fishing lake is a lovely walk round.

Disliked Not disliked but a bit too quiet for camping, great for camper vans and caravans. If you like peace and quiet this is perfect.

Nuthatch camping pod

Liked We recently had the most amazing stay at Acorn Wood Campsite, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better little getaway.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The owners greeted us and took the time to show us around and explain where everything was, which was such a lovely touch. We stayed in the onsite pod which was dog friendly so we was able to take our 2 dogs along for the getaway. The facilities were fantastic, spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away.
The fact that it’s adults only made it even more perfect for the peaceful and relaxing getaway we needed. The pond was lovely, and the fishing house was such a fantastic idea and incredibly well equipped. Even if you're accompanying someone who loves fishing but you're not a fisher yourself, there's still somewhere comfortable and enjoyable for you to relax — such a thoughtful touch!
We also loved the “share a book” idea. It’s the little things like this that make a place feel extra special.
We loved every single minute of our stay and made memories we’ll treasure. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Acorn Wood Campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful, clean, welcoming and truly special getaway.

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

A state-issued fishing license is required (you'll need to apply for this beforehand).
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m..
The fishing lakes are stocked with carp, roach, tench, bream.
The grocery shop is open between 01/01 and 12/31.
