  • Adults-only Lincolnshire site 10 minutes’ walk from North Somercotes
  • Donna Nook five minutes’ drive and Mablethorpe Beach 20 minutes
  • Fishing lakes, tackle/bait shop, basics store; pubs 10 minutes’ walk
Superbly set up for coarse fishing it may be, but Oasis Lakes and Holidays, just outside North Somercotes on Lincolnshire’s north-east coast, has much more going for it than that. It’s an adults-only site for starters, it’s small, it’s family-run and it’s well established. And the list goes on. The nine-acre site is set on the edge of a wildlife conservation forest, with lots of stunning views over the fishing lakes and the promise of colourful sunsets on clear evenings. Modern and luxurious shower facilities are spotless and remain that way as they are checked regularly, and you have a decent selection of drinks, snacks, toiletries and barbecue coal in the shop. A ten-minute stroll takes you into North Somercotes and two pubs, a restaurant and takeaways as well a general store and small supermarket. But back to those on-site fishing facilities. There are three well-stocked fishing lakes, where you can (hopefully) catch common carp up to around 20lbs, and a tackle shop selling bait, hooks, line, rigs, rods and reels.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked What a little gem of a campsite, Lovely warm welcome from Jo and Karl on arrival who showed us newly refurbished showers and toilet block at reception. Very good layout with separate shower cubicles so you don’t get your clothes wet when showering. They gave us a choice of pitches overlooking the lakes, individual water supply and pay as you go electric nice touch as you only pay for what you use?.We only booked 3 nights but decided to stay another night. Excellent fishing on beautifully maintained lakes.Just wished I had a carp cradle and 42” net to have been able to fish the specimen lake, Definitely want to return soon? It’s just a 12 minute walk to the Bay Horse pub where a fish and chip van comes to the car park on Thursdays where you can sit in the large beer garden with a pint and enjoy your meal. This is one of the best set out sites we’ve been to and can’t wait to return here. Good luck with the ongoing projects and we’ll see you soon, Pete and Shirley.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Well what an amazing find this little piece of paradise is. We were given a very friendly welcome and once shown where the very modern newly built washrooms and toilets were , we were shown to our pitch. The pitches are very generous in size , allowing for an awning use. Each pitch has its own post supplying water and electricity . Electric is paid for separately depending on your usage, which suits me just fine.

Their washrooms which were very clean , consist of a lovely big shower with beautifully hot water. Toilet and wash basin, plenty of room to dry yourself and to keep your clothes dry when showering.

There are 3 lakes filled with fish that will keep an angler going for their entire stay.
Really nice to walk around and watch the fishermen.
There are nice walks in the woods , and into the very quiet village which have a couple of pubs and a couple of shops if you need to replenish supplies . All of which are on level ground.
Owners came around once set up to check all was ok. ( a nice touch)
This is an adult only site .
There is one static caravan .

As I say a gem of a find! Can’t wait to come again.

Disliked My stay was too short

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked We have stayed several times at Oasis lakes on their campsite in our motorhome, and we especially enjoyed our most recent stay and was amazed at all the improvements that have gone on over the winter. All the showers have been completely refurbished with 3 separate rooms housing a good size shower, toilet & washbasin. Plenty of room to get away from the wet floor area after showering. The grounds now have raised beds surrounding the campsite with lovely shrubs, good size pitches, water and electric on each pitch , a new waste/elsan/washing up area . WiFi throughout the campsite area too. It is in a lovely coastal Lincolnshire village with 2 pubs serving food and occasional entertainment, local shops and nearby beaches, if you want to fish there are 3 well stocked lakes on site & tackle shop, essentials, cold drinks & ices also sold in shop. All at reasonable price. We’ve always receive a warm welcome from the family who own Oasis.
Highly recommend 😊

Disliked Leaving, our stay was too short but we will be back .

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The park is quiet tidy but the fishing lakes need work ie platforms over grown trees oxygen levels ie pumps running in hot conditions electricity cables dangling next to water on small lake island
0.7 miles to walk to village pubs shop chippy Chinese

Disliked Only one shower for the whole campsite plus three toilets which are in reception not near campsite
Pay extra for electric and water

From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay at Oasis Lakes and Holidays.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, however we feel this review is a little harsh.

With regards to the comments about the lakes- We always stated that our lakes are natural and mature as they were dug in 1930's, therefore there are lots of overhanging trees that are maintained without ruining their natural beauty.
With regards to low oxygen levels and aerators not being on hot days the reason they are not on is we have a very nice wind across the lakes and our oxygen levels are metered with a D-O meter early in the morning. At your time of stay the oxygen levels were above 67% which is perfect.

You have marked us for child friendliness but we are a adult only site.

You stated that we charge for electric and water however we only charge for electric on a pay as you go smart meter as stated per your booking, we find this fairer than simply putting the prices up.
Water is not chargeable as is covered in the pitch fee.

You stated we only have 1 shower- This is incorrect as we have 3 brand new shower cubicles in our shower block that are maintained to high standard.

When we spoke to you and asked if everything was ok, you said everything was fine and lovely. What would of been nice if you had pointed out your concerns whilst you was with us so we could of explained our processes and also listened to your valuable feedback as we strive to improve our site year on year

Local attractions

Wildlife lovers can head for Donna Nook (five minutes’ drive), an area of low-lying land known for its abundant birdlife – and if you’re visiting in October, you may also get to see the colony of grey seals that gathers on the beach to breed. At other times of the year, seals can be more reliably seen in The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre (15 minutes) along with other rescue animals including goats and otters. Days on the beach might include the seafront expanse at Mablethorpe (20 minutes), with its aquapark, seafront cycling routes and generous number of cafés and pubs. As well as a sweep of sand, Cleethorpes (half an hour) has a wonderfully restored Victorian-era pier, a golf course and ornamental gardens. Heading inland, the market town of Louth (20 minutes) is known for its antiques emporiums and indie boutiques. Don’t forget that the hills and vales of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape (15 minutes) reveal scenic bike rides and walking trails, while there are more gentle strolls to be had in Hubbard’s Hills country park (25 minutes).
